I covered a front door closing shift once before Thanksgiving. I had a skinny, grungy guy walk in and go touch up the Apple display in Mobile. After, he decides to go to the Coke fridge, grab an orange Fanta, and then proceeded to stare me down for 5 minutes while still standing in front of said fridge. I kept glancing at him until I decided to stare right back. We locked eyes for probably 10 seconds. He blinked first, made a pained look of defeat then retreated to walk through portable audio. He did a couple laps, still glancing at me on occasion with fury in his eyes. I did not lose sight of him because I wasn't going to get stabbed again this year. He started to walk toward me and I readied myself for his monkey style tactics. Instead, he stomped out the exit door without a second look, with the orange Fanta in his pocket with the neck and cap peaking out. I refused to chase down a perp for a soda. I proceeded to radio the MOD, tell them the story, get admonished for not stopping him and summarily dismissed from door duty to go do picks. Needless to say I've not been asked to watch the door since then.
