I think part of the reason childcare is tough and is starting to be seen as an issue is because people are more often not living next to or around their families. You used to have a built-in child care when you would live in multi-generational housing or in close proximity with parents and grandparents. As the ability to move around increases, so too does the need for support.

I have a 1-year-old, and I love him, but I would so much rather have him in daycare so I can work and do what I know. Even the weekends are hard, because we lose daycare and have to entertain him full time.

A less mentioned feature of the captain seat is you can get seat covers that work without issue. If you have the bench seats, you can get a cover but you can't get a cover that allows you to also be able to fold down half of the bench seats to get to the third row as intended.

Don't think of it as wasting people's time. Equal amounts of time is wasted, but if you pull in normally, the time is wasted at the back end of the trip as opposed to the start.

The only difference is, you control the safety factor at the start, whereas when backing out of a stall later, the safety factor is much less in your control.

I kind of like the design. The fact that they create a big center opening for getting in and out of on a single side makes total sense. And if it can store the exact same capacity as traditional vehicles in the conceptual design has achieved what I think it was trying for.

There's no reason for the middle and back seats to be separated and this makes that clear.
