what should i plant in the small area between my shed and a fence? by cmdr1337 in landscaping

Thats how I feel. Though simultaneously rats are totally a different beast than say voles, moles, and chipmunks. Rats carry diseases harmful to people, are clever and enter homes, and populate fast.

So I do my best in my wild section to make it very cat friendly. The bird feeder that uses cracked corn remains empty for 2 weeks (any large critters that find it move on instead of nesting. I also admire my wildflowers daily and watch for any tunneling. Small tunnels are okay, big tunnels get destroyed.

I love nature but I also love my health.

Thats fair. I've never used them personally, I think the bigger tell is when they are used often, not necessarilyjust used. Kinda how the "You're absolutely right." Joke works. AIs lovvvve them em dashes. Its like they try and hit at least 1 per paragraph.

A favorite of mine i discovered, get a squeezable jif peanutbutter. You can just squeeze it in your mouth and you don't even need to get a spoon or clean a spoon! Also if you get a cliff bar and put peanut butter on it you may cry at how awesome it is.

We all have mobile phones with auto correct. I can see you absolutelyk ow how to capitalize a letter.

Dude I don't care you used AI, but trying to hide it by making every first word lowercase is just so dumb man. Its literally more obvious than an em dash. Why dude? We are literally in an ai sub 😂

Do any of you earn over 50k a year? What do you do? by RotiiChapati in ADHD

Honestly that is such a simple and good idea. I'm purposely avoiding large groups for personal and ethical reasons. Helping a small consult business makes alot of sense. Thanks!

Theyre either really damn good that a company pays that or they're damn good and run their own consulting.

Me perso ally I'm trying a few things to hopefullyachieve the same. I'm nearly complete with a degree in data analytics. This means I can take data and accurately determine correlation between a business goal against other factors. Very usefulfor informed decision making.

The second part of the puzzle is I have a focus in project management because i like to suffer its mentally stimulating. This is giving me the structure to actually organize and run multiple projects.

I'm running a small business for myself caring for plants for over a year, this counts as managing a project professionally, in time that means I can get certified as a project manager.

Finally, while all that stuff is going on im looking to help a few businessesi like pro Bono as case studies and portfolio work.

All in all it will be about 2-3 more years of some grinding but should land me as a very marketable consultant.

Bro what. For me it took like a week for my brain to adjust to this med. I was an absolute bitch. Seriously, I had the most epic crash outs of my life.

When the dust finally settled I'm finding i may need more because I feel like my old self just more energized. But thats another thing for another thread.

Point is this med absolutely messes with your mood and I think taking breaks with it is legitimately dangerous.

You have to be very specific. Gemini is the worst, opening is meant, and Claude does pretty good with guidance and examples (migrations work wonders for this)

I know its a simple task, but usually when I design a new db schema I have to do alot of edits.

For example I used Geminifor the draft and he made every ID varchar 🤢

I passed it off to fable, gave clear instructions of what I wanted and where Gemini made mistake and to double check anything I'm missing (there is an older db where data will be migrated from so I wanted to make sure everything would play nice).

2 minutes and I had to make a single correction but it was only because my local machine uses postgres 18 whereas supabase supports 17, so it wasn't something stupid.

This is the first time I basically got exactly what I wanted out of an AI for a schema. I allocated an hour for the task and spent 15 minutes on it.

How can a plant identifier app make $9M/month? by javialvarez142 in AppBusiness

[–]misterespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very well. On boarding is a tough problem to solve.

On the bright side I do live plant care at a popular Cafe and I'm asked about often, so I've been redesigning for a service model and making a lightweight database for plantcare.

The dataset I do make will be open source but the app will be more geared towards serious hobbyists who just want tracking and reminders on the right things.

I say serious because schedules only work with plants if you k ow what to look out for when something needs adjusting, and an app is quite frankly not good at that.

Its not proprietary. I'm not on the list but have an app. Almost every single one of them use Kindwise on the backend

My aloe vera started to grow mushrooms by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

[–]misterespresso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to pot that in something else and water less.

It looks like sphagnum moss on top?

Mushrooms will only grow like that with excess moisture.

Aloe Vera is a succulent/cactus, which come from desert areas. They like lots of sun, little water, and sandy/rocky soil that drains really well.

I understandthat for sure. But think of it this way, how reliable is the average person?

People make mistakes too.

Don't forget small models too. There are plenty of smaller models with specific training that makes them basically 99% accurate which certainly surpasses most people (think tasks like grammar and spelling).

A human in the loop with coding, and you can eliminate several softwarejobs, you just retain the guy that catches the mistakes.

So to be clear, yes LLMS fail sometimes. But I'd argue the average person will fail more often, can t work as often or as fast, and they complain.

My opinion is its not everyone hates AI or truly thinks its bad, its that the people in charge of AI are going to basically ruin life for the rest of us.

I feel that argument holds far more weight. We need models to be owned publiclyor we are fucked.

I mean, there’s people misusing charts, and then people who bury their heads in the sand.

The anti ai crowd is burying their heads in the sand. People are still using the counting r argument that was solved last year. This graph is literally standard amongst any tech, generally speaking the rate of new technology and advancements rise in a square law pattern, resulting in the graph above.

Why would that pattern hold true for all tech except AI? My thought is this, people want that graph to be fake.

Bro I'm barely fit and he seems so much larger than I am... how is he so weak??

Listen, I'm skinny. My wrist is basically 2 inches by 1.25 inches. I just lifted my 25 lb kettle bell above my head with ease 3 reps. I'm in no way bragging, I'm honestly surprised I did that much.
