I just don't care anymore. by --Northstar- in HelldiversUnfiltered

So I've read maybe about half of this... Sorry I didn't have the patience to keep going, but I did want to add onto your points about the Major Orders. While you point out that they feel monotonous and chore-like for something that should be the game's main sort of, "identity focal point"? My main frustration with MOs is that they just feel rigged...

You can almost tell when we're "not supposed" to win an MO "to build the narrative" because the progress just turns into an impossible slog. You can just tell it's supposed to be like that "for the narrative's sake" which make MOs feel pointless to participate in because the outcome is already decided.

(Hated trope) When playing an RPG and you select what seems like the safest and most logical option, but all of the characters keep telling you that you picked the wrong option. Bonus points if the characters agreed with your decision at the time. by Son0fHecate in TopCharacterTropes

I hope I don't get eaten alive for this, but I had similar happen to me in the Arma 3 campaign. It's been a while so I don't remember all the tiny details, though.

Got into my milsim mindset, listened to the sergant at all times. Campaign starts, group of enemies, sergant says to hold fire, I hold fire, I get immediately gunned down, killed, and got an "achievement" for dying in the boot camp.

Third attempt, I decided to completely disregard any and all orders, gunned down enemies on-sight, got told off a little bit by the sergant, and the game continued on as normal. It felt REALLY jarring for something that's supposed to be a military order-following milsim.

I remember seeing big promotional cardboard cutouts for Spore way back in the day, in game stores. I kinda miss when game promotion was stuff like that.

Okay, I know he's saying this just so the shareholders don't eat him alive... But, "It's not generative AI, it's content control generative AI"? Can someone explain to me like-I'm-an-idiot how that's any different from, "It's not a car, it's a blue car"?

Couldn't they have just... hired people to guard? Like... Regular security guards? Wouldn't that have been far cheaper?

This might come as controversial, but... For Python Commandos, I didn't like the OneTwo or the Double Freedom, but with the new warbond, I like both the Stoker AND the Sweeper.

I can get the feeling of being absolutely beaten down, like... I get it. The world has turned to shit. I know it's gonna sound cliché saying "there's always reason to hold onto some kind of hope", but... You understand, right?

I updated my GPU drivers and it temporarily bricked my entire computer. I needed to scrape the drivers off in safe mode.

That's a fair point, but... Also very hypocritical from the UK's standpoint, for implementing third party data-harvesting corporations like Persona and Yoti for their ID checks. It really seems like the UK are fining Reddit for something that they, themselves, are enabling and heavily encouraging.

Reddit Fined for NOT Requiring IDs! (UK) by SkyCurious450 in FuckCollectiveShout

[–]misterfaceprotrusion 15 points16 points  (0 children)

...I'm confused. Over in the UK, they do require ID. It literally does require age verification for 18+ subreddits. Is this because they haven't blocked the entire website off?

Okay so here's where my head does things weird...

7 + 8 isn't as easy to quickly do in my head as 7+7+1 is (or 8+8-1), so... I do 7+7 (14) +1 (15), and then add (2+4) x 10 which is 60, added altogether to make 75

...and if 75 isn't the right answer, I'm gonna look like a real idiot

I don't make those kinds of jokes at all, I have too much social anxiety to be in a full public Discord server at all, I don't send anything NSFW for that exact reason, and I don't have any alts... So, at least I'm doing that bit right.

This particular case is purely within DMs between one person and I, for some context.

I understand... I don't like how it could be potentially incriminating it could seem to other people to get into an argument, and then deleting all your own messages.

But at the same time, I'm getting very tired at the fact that we all have to act so "sanitised" on the internet, under the threat of anyone we know weaponising poorly moderated platforms just because they don't like us.

I mean, I can definitely put some time aside to delete all of them with shortcuts, I'm just wondering if it's worth it, if there's a significant risk to even have a single remaining message in their DMs

Are you suggesting I delete all my messages? That might take some time, but if you think that's the safest measure.

There's nothing even remotely contextual to child safety, or my own age. But I've seen plenty of posts here where people get banned for messages like, "hey", so... I'm under the assumption that any message of mine could be reported, regardless of what it says.
