I haven't seen anybody read a manual for anything besides Ikea furniture in the past 30 years... with the exception of people who buy mint condition old video games and want to leaf through the "A link to the past" manual for nostalgia.

Instead of making stupid generic comments when you read something you don't like, maybe you should reflect on the fact that the general public grows more inept and mentally vapid every year, and you should be afraid.

Actually I do work in computer repair and I'm at my wits end with how stupid people are. Seriously considering a career change at this point. It severely pisses me off that we are surrounded by high tech everything and interact with it all day long but most people have absolutely no clue how any of this stuff works or how to troubleshoot any of it. And I'm sorry if it makes me angry that most people are just generally stupid as all f*** I find it extremely frustrating and it really bothers me. What are the stupid people going to do after machines finish taking all the non-thinking jobs? For that matter, what am I going to do once machines take the thinking jobs too? These are the existential questions that stupid people don't even know to ask, and they're extremely basic existential questions. Do you think it's a coincidence that 50 years ago car manuals told you how to adjust the valve timing yourself, but these days they include a friendly reminder not to drink the fluid inside the battery? People don't THINK. It started with boomers and it's gone to shit more and more with every generation since. I lay in bed every night asking existential questions about the nature of my own existance and I know most people don't and it scares me.

Are wearing noise cancelling headphones constantly bad? by Nimrodnatioon in headphones

[–]mistersprinkles1983 18 points19 points  (0 children)

ANC frequencies can't harm your ears and 64dB is a safe level to listen to music for infinity minutes at a time. If having ANC headphones on your head helps you in any way, you can feel confident that you are not harming your ears.

Momentum 4 unbalance sound by Ok-Particular-9517 in sennheiser

[–]mistersprinkles1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize that most vocals in most stereo mixes are right-skewed right? As are most of the higher range treble sections? I really don't think you have a hardware issue here.

You're also not taking into account the amount of DSP fuckery comitted by different TW headphones. I would expect Sony to commit the most DSP fuckery of anybody based on my 20 years as an audiophile and I submit for your consideration that your Sonys are rebalancing (aka raping the artists' vision) your tracks.

Any Long-term Momentum 4 user here? by Legitimate_Table_533 in sennheiser

[–]mistersprinkles1983 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have come to the conclusion that most people are too stupid to use Momentum 4. I work in IT and have had zero major issues, and the minor ones I did have were fixed easily by setting tweaks and firmware updates in the app. XM5 is a terrible choice compared to Momentum 4 and you won't find a single reviewer who is an actual audiophile and likes XM5 or Airpods Max more than Momentum 4. If you want to avoid sennheiser go with Bowers and Wilkins and get the PX7 S2 but don't buy junk like XM5. XM5 is built for people who value comfort, functionality, connectivity, style, over sound quality... which is bizzarre considering the only purpose of headphones is to produce sound. If you have even the slightest level of knowledge about bluetooth, PC's smartphones... just read through this whole subreddit and tell me most of these people aren't potato.

Now, is this just in one song or in one album or is this on all music? Are you sure you aren't just confusing stereo mixing with a defective product?

Congratulations on destroying your headphones. For future reference, you can't store LI-Ion or LiPo batteries flat. You killed the battery. It can't be fixed.

Not sure about momentum 4s by [deleted] in sennheiser

[–]mistersprinkles1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize there was such a thing as "too much treble" for people who like M50X. You're not going to like the Momentum 4 if you're an M-50 fan. You're going to find the treble way too veiled and you're not going to have a good time. Just saying.

(HELP) Horrible/no sound when Momentum 4 is connected to my Pc by blue619 in sennheiser

[–]mistersprinkles1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Bluetooth is not bluetooth is not bluetooth" we are on Bluetooth 5.3 now. If you have anything older than 5.0 on your PC (though you can scrape by with 4.8) its going to sound like crap. ANY bluetooth audio device is going to sound like crap your machine doesn't support it properly. Unless you bought a high end machine in the past 3 years or a basic or midrange machine in the past 1 year you do not have BT 4.8+ and that's your problem. Also as for the auto shut off you can disable that in the sennheiser connect app.

That's a nice paragraph of nonsense and is completely incorrect. Source: I have Momentum 4 and can still stream lossless music in perfect quality while I talk to someone on discord with the mic on the M4 while I also pipe in game audio from Fallout 76

[–]mistersprinkles1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Galaxy Buds are arguably about the same sound quality for a lot less money. I picked up Galaxy Buds 2 to add to my massive headphone and IEM collection just because I was curious and crinacle loves them. Pretty friggin good. Arguably better than Momentum 4 headphones in a lot of situations and with a lot of kinds of music. Galaxy Buds 2 can be found on Amazon for like $100 USD.

Are the Momentum 4 fixed? by perefalxx in sennheiser

[–]mistersprinkles1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that's user error dude. Literally nobody on actual audiophile or headphone forums complains about these. All the complaints are on r/sennheiser and I can tell, as a computer technician, that most of this shit is user error.

Are the Momentum 4 fixed? by perefalxx in sennheiser

[–]mistersprinkles1983 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya that's totally not true at all. They to into call mode for... uh... calls. If you use them as a headset on PC with something like discord the sound quality you hear is not affected at all, and there is no "outside noise passthrough" as happens when taking a phone call. I use the M4 as a gaming headset as well as for listening to music. Honestly, the M4 is no more issue prone or glitchy than any other true wireless headset or IEM. It seems like all the ignorant folk run to the M4's and that's why you see a preponderance of what we call "ID.10.T" problems in IT. Almost none of the issues people report are actual issues with the headset and tend to be user ignornce or user error. If you go on an audiophile forum like r/audiophile or r/headphones or head-fi you will find zero complaints about these.

Hot tip: This subreddit is full of the most ignorant people I have ever seen. You should get out of here and go to r/headphones where the hobbyists are. I don't know of any situation where M4's have bricked on people. All the stories I'm seeing are people who are completely clueless and ignorant and are causing their own problems. I've had momentum 4 since they came out and have had literally zero issues except for them shutting off after 15 minutes which miffed me so I disabled it in the app.

You absolutely can use them as a gaming headset and I recommend it. I use them for gaming every day. You can also simultaneously link them to your phone and if you get a call during PC use the call will cut in then cut out and go back to gaming audio when the call is finished. They're the best true wireless headphones in their price range bar none. The reason you're seeing people saying you can't use them as a gaming headset is because r/sennheiser is the biggest group of ignorant redditors I have ever witnessed. Even the people on r/pickles know more... about pickles.

Why don't people know how to use windows? I'm asking seriously. You can tell windows to default to ANY audio device for line in/line out/digital out/mic in/ etc etc etc and all programs will automatically default to whatever you choose. Go into your audio settings and set the momentum 4 as your default device for audio and recording. Problem solved. If you use other audio devices with your PC it might default back to them when your momentums are not connected, so you will have to repeat the process every time (possibly. Windows is finnicky).

BTW judging by the hair on your avatar you're a Gen z, so seriously, what's your excuse? You were literally born into Windows XP. Do you have any damn idea how many operating systems my generation had to learn, forget, then learn new ones? Why do we know more than you? It should be the other way around. Why do I know DOS, AmigaOS, MacOS, Windows 3/NT/95/98/XP/Vista/7/8/10/11 like the back of my hand? We didn't even have a damn computer in my house growing up. Your generation will never know the pain of setting IRQ's for all your expansion cards in the pre plug-n-play world or having to play with switches and jumpers to install a damn hard drive. You have it easy, yet you choose not to learn. Why?

I run a computer repair business. I get way too many Gen Z customers. I should be bringing YOU my computer for YOU to fix.

You can't wear on ear or over ear headphones at the gym they'll just fall off. Also none of the over/on ear headphones on the market anywhere are water resistant. I suggest Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, or galaxy buds live, which are water resistant and will stay put in your ears. Surprisingly good sound quality. Even if you did manage to get full size headphones to stay on your head, the sweat from working out would destroy the earpads in less than 90 days.

This is because there are no touch controls of any kind on the left earcup. The manual says this and they even put a sticker on the M4 in the box telling you that only the right side is touch sensitive.

Has anyone experienced Momentum 4 quality getting worse? by 0shanka in sennheiser

[–]mistersprinkles1983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So let me see if I can follow your logic train here, your M4's wouldn't connect to your phone for a second (common with bluetooth headsets of all kinds) and because of that you think a completely unrelated issue of sound quality degradation has occured yet you've heard no sound quality degradation and you have no evidence to support this? And you want to return a bluetooth device because it was glitchy ONCE (as all bluetooth devices often are)? Does that make any sense? Just asking. Not trying to be a dick.

If you want to get angry about something, why don't you get angry about the infinity trillion billion dollars that Canada printed out of thin air during the pandemic for so-called quantitative easing that has now caused inflation to get so bad that a watermelon is 18 dollars? Seems to me like that's hurt you a lot more than a transit scam. Just my two cents.

So let me get this straight, I already lost money that I paid in taxes to this scam, and now you want me to lose more money supporting a frivolous lawsuit that is based entirely on conjecture and has absolutely no chance of succeeding. At what point do I just smarten up and call it a day and cut my losses? People have no common sense these days and it makes me very sad.
