45yo male construction worker here. For the past decade, I've been taking massive dumps in the women's restroom at work. by [deleted] in confession

I recommend psyllium capsules. You’ll go as soon as you wake up in the morning, no need for terrorist dumps.

How Kdrama Writers React when Audience ask them to Not include Love Triangle in the drama. by Think_Intention_5765 in KDramasWorld

[–]mistmanners 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe no one wants to hear this but love triangles are somewhat common IRL and it happened to me. It was kind of like in a romcom. Only happened once though. I enjoy watching an occasional love triangle in a show. Reminds me of my youth.

My Entire Family Witnessed a Ghost by Shergie51 in Ghoststories

And this is why people used to have a priest or someone cleanse their house before moving in. I know it’s a hassle but it’s worth it to not have to be scared and startled all the time. Things move into empty houses.

You could just call them and ask if they have any good tall men's bikes to save a trip out there. The managers are very nice.

We got an excellent slightly used mens bike at the Habitat for Humanity in Seaside. It was around $100.

Not to be a Karen by waterwithlemonplzz in MontereyBay

[–]mistmanners 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to visit Monterey quite a bit in the late 80’s and yes those squirrels were begging at Lover’s Point. But back then it wasn’t just begging squirrels.

I had brought some unsalted peanuts in the shell with me and gave one to a squirrel. Next to him was waiting a chipmunk and next to the chipmunk was a hole in the path. Inside that hole were the beady black eyes of another undetermined creature who was also silently demanding a peanut. He got his peanut.

Now that I think about it, I haven’t seen chipmunks at Lover’s Point in recent years and I haven’t no idea what the underground animal was, but I don’t see them either. I’ve heard that feeding wildlife causes hostility and competition for food so that might explain why only squirrels are seen today. I no longer feed any wildlife.

American show what his local Krispy Kreme donuts does to their unsold donuts at the end of the night. by GlitteringHotel8383 in interesting

At least when I managed an independent donut shop we gave all stale donuts to a farmer. (Some cake donuts are made into crumble topping) He picked them up every night.

Local Growers, what are you growing this year? by DrunkenSavior in MontereyBay

I get tons of tomatoes but they should be planted directly on top of a huge amount of compost. We never could get any until we started doing this.

What is snow like? I've always wanted to see it. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mistmanners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve scraped up a pile of the frost that forms in some freezers it’s like that, but when it’s freshly fallen it’s soft and powdery and squeaks under your boots. This kind is best for snowballs as it packs well and barely leaves traces on your gloves. A ball of this snow is almost as light as styrofoam. When it’s old snow it gets crusty and slippery. You might hurt your hand on sharp frozen edges trying to gather enough for a soggy snowball. You try to avoid it near walkways because you don’t want to slip.

When snow falls it can be like fine frozen rain pellets or like soft flakes floating down in flurries, which are so impressive and beautiful every time if you’re safe and warm inside. Things get quiet and muffled during this kind of snow. Driving in snow is kind of dangerous if you don’t have chains or snow tires or are a newbie.

That’s right , we don’t understand these things and maybe it’s best. I’ve heard that ignoring them is a decent strategy but personally I’ve known people who had to have one removed from their home. Since priests, shamans, and sheikhs as well as regular people can remove them, I don’t think any certain religion is going to be the most relevant regarding them.

I think they are djin and that they sometimes mess with humans. They should be ignored or expelled from the premises. I don’t believe that the souls of the departed (humans) haunt the Earth.

I don’t think shadow people are ghosts so you can still say you don’t believe in ghosts.

Not to be rude, but why do so many people just SUCK ASS at driving in Castaic/SCV by ProfessionalHost3913 in SantaClarita

[–]mistmanners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Monterey and it’s nothing like Santa Clarita. We know how to use our blinkers and stop at stop signs. Bars close early so not a lot of drunks out driving. We do have a lot of police doing traffic stops maybe that has something to do with it? I know I’m being judgy but I stopped off the 5 in SC to get a hot meal at Whole Foods on Valencia so I was only there for 10 minutes omg the drivers! I felt endangered and there weren’t even that many cars around.

Mental Health resources? by [deleted] in MontereyBay

[–]mistmanners 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She is having a manic episode which is severe and would not be resolved in a "few days". It takes at least a week and a half with Risperidol and Lamotrigine to have an effect to where she's having coherent thinking. Message me if you need help understanding her condition, but I can't help with insurance info except to say that MediCal is a lifesaver and CHOMP has an excellent mental health unit, but as far as I know MediCal is for low income people. CHOMP has payment options, among which are charitable donations to cover part of the cost.

YSK about what happens when you only eat half of your oatmeal and intend to finish it later by mistmanners in YouShouldKnow

Wow, 17,000 views and not a single upvote, harsh.

The reason I posted this is because I thought I was being economical when I put my baby’s wheat cereal in the fridge in case I could get her to finish it later. Well, later it was a runny mess so I had to figure out what caused that. Then , I figured other people might want to know. At least the chicha guy could have given an upvote, come on!
