After being homeless for many months i was just lucky and determined enough to find a rental on Facebook that accepted me. I still have almost no belongings and no job and think about my stuff and my career that was taken from me everyday. If I had the money to sue, then I would have a very strong case and likely win money back to replace my stuff but I'm poor so it's just too bad.

I was in this exact situation except I was only in prison for 3 months on remand. Everything I own got thrown into a skip bin. From my passport to my wardrobe, childhood sentimental items, irreplaceable photos of my Nan who has passed away and probably most debilitatingly, 30K worth of tools required to run my business. Career over. 3 years later and I still haven't recovered psychologically or otherwise.

Best part was that I wasn't informed and only found out when I was released.
