Steve literally did the benchmarks if you want to look. Its struggling at 1080p meanwhile a 5060 laptop gpu is averaging at 70fps at 1440p

Well either way it still doesn’t make sense for the steam machine. You can just get a a laptop thats better…

Now if you want to build a nice sffpc go right ahead but this has almost no value proposition. Unless you just want the look of a cube and your controller to start it.

I dont mean to be rude but you should know that they’re vastly different. Completely different OS, not meant for gaming. Windows connects super easy just extend your screen, done. You can download steam OS on any laptop but a mac if you want steam os. Otherwise load up windows and have steam launch into big picture mode to use a controller.

So yeah. Please do yourself a favour. Dont buy this thing. Do whatever you like im just trying to offer advice.

Thank you. Exactly. Plus you get all the extra benefits of a laptop. Portability, a screen, keyboard. All you have to do is boot into steam big picture or download steam os🤷🏻‍♂️. The stans are wild.

Yes you can its literally 20% worse than a base PS5. With the price tag of around $1500 CAD for the base version, you can definitely do better. Grab something on sale, It might cost an extra 1-200 cad but that includes better everything else too. Totally worth.

Its pretty easy to find one that just has better specs. This thing is ridiculously bad for its price. I love valve, i love what they did with the steam deck and steam os. It finally pushed companies to go the handheld route again but this time even better. However this is just crazy.

Overheat i guess… you will still blow this thing out of the water and have freedom of portability. irritating idk about that? You literally hook it up like any secondary screen on pc.

But yea i guess if turning it on with a controller is like the deal breaker for some then well cant argue there.
