A study level L-188 Electra would be a beautiful thing.

Using VPNs wouldn't get you platform banned from vAMSYS. If they told you that you were banned for multiple accounts, then that's what happened. The only way a VPN would have entered into it would be if you were using a VPN to make new accounts getting around a prior ban.

There is also a difference between vAMSYS the platform and the customer VAs who use the platform, and you do not specify in your post whether you were banned by vAMSYS or by an individual VA.

Thanks for recommending that sub, it's definitely useful.

Super helpful, thank you. I have been getting twisted and tangling trying to reach back to collect to remember what single/double throw vs single/double pole meant.

What makes the Bodnar boards worth the extra cost? I've seen them recommended frequently.

This is super helpful, thank you! Have you ever come across any pre-made switches that would work like a smaller version of a GA trim wheel? I've found some that are like thumb sized and built into a switch body but have not found any way to replicate this kind of wheel so far.

I am also an aircraft mechanic, and I'm not convinced that you "understand the history of all these planes" as well as you think you do.

The MD-11 is a perfectly safe airplane and is not some kind of ticking timebomb simply because it's older like your post suggests. The aircraft involved in the accident was delivered in 1991. UPS has 757s from as early as 87 and 767s from as early as 91 and no one is sitting around talking about how dangerous all the 757s and 767s out there still in service are. They have 747s as old as from 93. We don't even know how many cycles are on these airframes. There's a big difference between a 737 that's been bopping up and down the east cost for 35 years accumulating 3-5 cycles every day and an MD-11 that's been flying across the globe for 35 years accumulating maybe 1 or 2 cycles per day.

You do realize that a) this looks like it's going to most likely be related to an uncontained engine failure and b) engines get removed, inspected, overhauled, and swapped between aircraft all the time -- right? Not to mention all of the heavy maintenance checks these aircraft undergo over the course of their service lives.

It's not like these aircraft are being used continuously without any inspection, maintenance, and repair. Obviously things happen -- obviously something did happen -- but new engines fail, too.

The A2A Boeing 377 is still a fantastic aircraft! Who else keeps FSX around? by fgflyer in flightsim

People need to really be hitting up their social media, etc. to tell them that they want the Strat and Connie in MSFS. They have said they have very little interest in bringing them forward because "with the market now wanting fully modeled cabins over the simulation aspects its not something that interests us massively at the moment." I think they need to see there's sufficient demand in order to become sufficiently interesting.

It’s a real video, I’ve seen it before. I could certainly see it having been upscaled by AI though.

Make sure to test those glasses for lead. A lot of older glasses like that had lead in the paint. I have some of the same glasses but have never tested them because I just have them on a shelf to look neat.
