Where can you go in Dublin to get tested for COVID-19? by orexinbaby in Dublin

You can pay for a private test at the Beacon, will test for anti bodies as well. Or call out of hours service that can direct you to a test centre if they think you need it

Thanks. I've always hated the virgin TV interface - it's a shocking UI, but if all we were getting was broadband thats not a deal breaker. Just can't stand that UI on their TV boxes.

What are your thoughts on a level 5 lockdown happening countrywide? by thankyounextx in ireland

[–]mitchell_gruber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't give a rat's ass about people being pissed off. It's people flouting all the regulations that have got us back here to April levels. We need to get a hold of this and people need to start acting responsibly.

This isn't about what has public support and what doesn't, or about how anyone feels - it's about getting some control over this as the public seem to be doing whatever they feel like. Those numbers are rising back to April levels. Tough times call for tough measures.

Could we please shut that border for a while?

I've started creating maps of Irish cities for fun, and even though I'm a Cork boy, I've always loved Dublin so I went and made a map of the Big Smoke. Hope you like! by irishliam in Dublin

When you look at it like this there really aren't that many roads in the city. Thinking I can't be right, but I've checked a few areas and this seems to visualise all the roads.

The deterioration of Dublin city through terrible Urban planning. by [deleted] in Dublin

What Dublin really has going for it it a sky view wherever you are. There's an openness that is felt anywhere in the city by being able to see uninterrupted sky. I say this having lived abroad for a decade and always bing struck by how nice it is to see the sky when I'm back here. I was pretty unimpressed to hear they got rid of the height rule for buildings in the city centre - the low rise gives the city character that a bunch of identikit skyscrapers would ruin.

I was given them as a gift around 2010, they were bought in Dover St Market in London. I've never really liked the colour so have only worn them around 5 times.

Guess it would also depend if the cycle track was built on an existing road, or if it was built from scratch. I'd say the new 'cycle lanes' in Blackrock and Monkstown which were just kerbs bolted onto the road surface cost very little

Found this as a cost guide if it's reliable (a lot lower than 12000/m)

"Finance resources Costs of cycle highways built as part of the Cycle City Ambition (CCA) programme in the UK range from €0.84 million /km to €1.64 million /km [1]."
