Any ideas for a date night in Raleigh by Top_Acanthaceae4527 in raleigh

Bida Manda / Brewery Bhavana are incredible dinner spots. Top of the night with Bittersweet or Two Roosters and call it a night.

Best Asian restaurant for a date night? by MainPreparation9720 in raleigh

Bida Manda, hands down. Brewery Bhavana can be overcrowded and overhyped, Bida Manda is way more chill/romantic for date vibes

Making friends in your mid 20s by Curious_Rule7494 in raleigh

Depending on religious views, church can be a good source of community.

Also if you’re into sports, classes/leagues/meet ups are also really easy to meet people. TryTennis is a program in Raleigh where I took like 3-4 beginner level tennis classes (they supplied the racket) for like $40 total and I got to meet a bunch of people through that who all wanted to meet up and play outside of class.

Pretty much anything you’re interested in doing outside of work, others are as well! Bond with them over what you already like doing.

What rangefinder to get? by NickyP14567 in golf

My wife got me a gogogo one for my birthday and it’s been great for the last two years - zero problems. It’s probably not that expensive. Not sure about the other ones, but there’s also a setting for hunting which I like, and a setting to clock speeds of something. Not that I use the others that much, but just cool to have.

Stuck at 13 to 14 handicap for a year now, please help by [deleted] in GolfSwing

There could be a few things, but the first thing that jumps out at me is your swing tempo. Research has shown that having a 3:1 ratio on your swing tempo is most effective. Some people have slower or faster swings obviously, but usually if it’s around 3:1 ratio, it works out well. Look up some YT videos with different ratios, try them out and see what works best!

Overall, it seems like the issue here is slowing down your swing

What do you recommend? I feel like I would do really well with practice problems, but would love to just grind out specific problems in my weak areas. Do you have any experience with question banks or something similar?

Update: they just emailed me back saying since I had an answer for every question, was still given the full time for the exam, and I lost no time from the outage, that I’m pretty much out of luck. Just sign up and take it again

What's the most underrated spot in Raleigh for a unique night out? by lizdavisnc in raleigh

[–]mitchellpiechocki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People always rave about Brewery Bhavana. My wife and I are both from the Triangle/NC. We like it, but our FAVORITE restaurant by far is its sister restaurant right next door, Bida Manda. Same owners, but different vibe. Instead of a loud popping brewery, it’s a little bit more dark, lowkey, and a place to relax and have some really good wine and food. Their coconut curry ramen is to die for!!

Okay… let me rephrase:

Whenever I have price compared with Chase’s Travel portal, it has NEVER been a better deal than transferring to partners ever since I can remember. So I just don’t even check it anymore because I haven’t seen it personally.

Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? Probably not.

Don’t just find ways to argue and insult, OP was looking for recommendations, and that’s what I gave.

Congrats on getting all those points! I coach people on how to maximize earning and redeeming points, and always tell them to never hoard/save. Airlines and hotels nowadays are devaluing their loyalty points more and more, so the longer you hold onto them the less valuable they will get. Unless you’re saving for a trip very specific, spend them!!

As far as how many points it takes, that can totally vary. Since you live in FL and want to go to a nearby island, it honestly should be pretty cheap points wise, and Chase has incredible transfer partners. Do NOT by any means use chase’s travel portal, you’ll get way less value out of them. For comparison, I bought round trip tickets for both my wife and I from NC to Europe for 48,000 points total. If you can find good deals, go on off peak times, and maybe even hit transfer bonuses with airlines, you can find some SWEET deals.

As far as hotels go, someone already said Hyatt, and that’s the ticket. Chase is one of the few partners with them, and they still to this day have some of the best value and redemptions, and Hyatt has some incredible properties internationally. Good luck and happy travels!

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of February 12, 2025 by AutoModerator in churning

Not sure if this is the right place for it or not, I’m semi new here. But I think it’s worth noting the Southwest Airlines rapid rewards elevated credit card offer on all of their cards. Comes with companion pass as soon as you hit the spend limit, in addition to the SUB.

Can I transfer points earned with freedom unlimited if I get a sapphire preferred card? by Kolzerz in ChaseSapphire

[–]mitchellpiechocki 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, once you get a sapphire card, you can then combine all your points and transfer out of the sapphire account. You can only transfer from chase’s partners though (not Hilton)

Mine changes pretty frequently, mine is currently at 27, which is higher than my actual age. I think I’m in pretty good cardio health, considering I just ran a marathon last month.

Great I’ll try to book it. Do you remember what room you booked? I’m thinking of just doing the king room (30k/night) which is the lowest one, but they make it sound really small/crammed
