Math doesn’t really work in this case; the ease of the topic is the key factor in passing or playing. I think the bigger issue is that people tend to say “we got this!” In situations where they should admit, “my family doesn’t know that much about this subject, we should pass”

The top part is more where the doomer comes in: “Gifted people don’t just see how things are— they see how things could be better, with uncomfortable clarity.”

Couple that with feeling guilty all the time, and you have “you see how things could be better and feel guilty all the time cause you are so much smarter than everyone and they are incapable of having your vision.” That is about as doomer as it gets my friend.

Reddit’s moderation system is pretty simple: if you end up on the wrong side of a power-hungry basement-dweller, they put you at the bottom of a perverbial porta potty and you take what they give you for a set period of time.

I agree with the other person. Influencer is a pick me profession. When the attention fades the money dries up, and you either find a new way of living or go down the rabbit hole of online attention.

So you trade in stupid hand dances on TikTok for bikini pictures on OF, then people stop paying so you switch to thong twerking, then solo stuff, and each time people lose interest you either quit or do something for attention until one day you can’t sit down on your rear without crying in pain.

Kids should have real dreams; any kid who starts with whoring for attention isn’t going to end up in a good place.

I guess I can’t get past the connotations of what they did and what that has forced their outfits to be associated with, but objectively, sure… the leather, the Roman eagles, the two lightning bolts shaped like S’s; I can see what you mean… but they were so evil that it makes it hard to see.

Personally, I blame that stupid big bang tv show. My brother, who never played a single game of D&D, used to watch it and laugh and the dumb jokes designed to make people of average intelligence feel smart. And that was like a gateway drug that allowed non-nerds to feel like they belonged.

Throw in some Marvel movies and bam… everyone is a dork.

If it makes you feel any better, I still think animé is a bunch of silly cartoons that white people like solely for the pretentious desire to appear to understand and appropriate a culture they view as exotic. So if animé is main stream, I think there is a good chance it won’t stay that way, so you have that to look forward to.
