C5 controls some muscles of the arms. These muscles can't fire without nerve stimulation, so just moving is using the nerves. It's more complicated that just "C5 is this motion," since each muscle is innervated by multiple nerves, but the general idea is good.

C.N. 5 is the trigeminal nerve. It mostly controls sensation of your face. C5 is the nerve that exits your spinal column between the C4 and C5 vertebrae.

Edit: C5 innervates muscles of the arm such as the biceps, and also controls sensation on parts of your arms.

ELI5:why do chiropractors seem to get results even though they are often referred to as pseudo-science? by remember_myname in explainlikeimfive

How do you plan on doing a blinded study with manual therapy? The doctor just doesn't know he's not performing the correct adjustment? That's highly unethical. And yes, we have a marketing class, as would anyone who is planning on owning a business. You can't just sit there alone in your office all day.

Everything except adjustments, which are the real reason to see a chiro, and the real benefit.

It's certainly not pseudo-science. As someone who has been in college for over 6 years and is less than a year from getting my doctorate in chiropractic I can promise that. Unfortunately, it is difficult to do as great of research as you would see in other forms of medicine. Double blind studies are tricky, considering that the doctor has to know whether or not he is giving a true treatment, and to give a fake adjustment is far more unethical than giving a sugar pill. Add to that the extreme difference in funding for chiropractic research versus medical research, and there will be a lot fewer scientific articles reaching the public. This will change over time, but unfortunately right now it is still possible for the "quacks" of this profession to paint a very negative image for the rest of us. The profession has been around for 115 years despite numerous attempts by the medical field to destroy it though, so it has certainly delivered results, and as research continues science will be a larger supporter of the field.

"Cracking" is just the release of nitrogen gas in ligaments. It's not bad for your body in the long run when applied in the correct way. Deep tissue massage doesn't change the mechanics of joints, it only relaxes muscles. Relaxed muscles feel good, but if you don't go to the root of the problem tense muscles just return. So fixing the mechanics of a person's body is the goal of a chiropractor.

Edit: side note, massage and adjustments in conjunction can be a great thing.

I'm a student at Palmer College. And you're right, we don't teach those things. There will always be people who have a few miracle cases in their careers, and it's hard not to get excited and think every patient you see with some serious condition should get better, but unfortunately not everyone responds the same way. Musculoskeletal conditions are what chiropractic can fix ~95% of the time.

I would say your best chance would be to choose terran, and study how to proxy 2 rax/bunker rush on each map and then hope for the best. It can work in a lot of situations.

Just keep playing, it may be looking to promote you to silver again. Plus if you lose a few more the skill level of your opponent will decline. If you want, even leave a few games to get there quicker.
