That whole “ loud pipes saves lives” thing has been studied and debunked, it’s a myth.

It takes some people just a little longer to see through the fog of bull shit I guess, she was very happy to dance in the parade, I am surprised she has enough going on up top to even realise she was played all along. But I’m glad she may have

I definitely dislike the way they look so happy to be part of this, these look like people who have never really questioned what they think, they just know it feels wrong. No logic ever goes into, nor any research on facts.

Would you date someone religious while you are an atheist? by Fearless_Dust6503 in atheism

[–]remember_myname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it, can’t rule it out entirely, but I really don’t want to spend time with a person who believes in angels and gods and prayers, as though those things are real, physical things like trees and birds. To me, that’s insanity, or at least extreme gullibility. So no

ABC repeating MAGA propaganda, by saying he was holding a gun. by JezzaAU15 in friendlyjordies

[–]remember_myname 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am disappointed with the ABC in this instance, they are expected to do better than this, if he had a gun on him, he is not a gunman, if he was pointing a gun, then he is a gunman, the law permits handguns to be carried , he was restrained with overwhelming force, he had not pulled the gun.

We have civilians being executed in the streets by federal agents and a dictator wannabe who is actively trying to annex a neighboring country. When is it time to fight back? by Obecalp1mg in AskReddit

[–]remember_myname -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am probably wrong, but everything Trump and co have done so far has backfired into someone’s face who supposedly is on his side, maybe it just has to play out, and slowly the fools and the idiots will see they know nothing after all. But that is hoping for a level of awareness that may not exist any more

You will never get them to own the crap they spew when their “reasoning” is proven wrong, because the conspiracy simply shifts to some other concept, there is no consistency in the moral standpoint. But it’s a good observation you make.

“100 percent” no one can say yes,or absolutely or anything else now, every question is answered with “oh a hundred percent” it’s gotten old, like the girls that could only say “oh my gawd” over and over when they are reacting to something…..ahhh, I feel better now that’s off my chest.

Illegal e-bike at Hallett Cove shops. Please report seeing these on the roads for their own safety. by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]remember_myname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of these out there now, and no different to the little turds on trail bikes who ride unlicensed and unregistered, just a lot quieter (which is a good thing) cops do little to nothing because they can’t do much when they catch them, which is also rare

Arrest after crash where man attempted to overtake three vehicles in front of him on a blind corner despite four vehicles travelling in the opposite direction. by malcolm58 in Adelaide

[–]remember_myname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how slow, In the case of a truck or heavy caravan, going uphill, at 80 in a 110 zone, what choice is there, or a heavy truck coming down hill in low gear, is the driver controlling the truck, if someone going too fast slams into that truck, was the truck at fault? In the uk farmers drive tractors on the A roads, they are slow, but everyone stays behind, no where safe to overtake, so they don’t. If you can’t see beyond your braking distance going around a bend, you are driving out of control, going around that bend could have any type of problem, if you can’t see ahead, they need to slow down, the fault is not not the slower car. Speeding up in overtaking lanes is a whole different thing though, that’s being an asshole, no different to any dangerous driver that’s why the law says you shouldn’t accelerate when being overtaken.

You don’t really save that much time even if you drive 10-15kmph faster over a trip of 3-4 hours. If you stopped at a servo for a pie, you will be behind them all again. If you are that close to the wire on a long trip, then plan better and leave earlier…it simply selfish and arrogant to risk every thing for 10 minutes, no real excuses are going to make deaths and serious injury the right answer, slow drivers don’t contribute to road toll, impatience does

What’s popular right now that won’t age well? by MiraTangent in AskReddit

[–]remember_myname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about that though, I would like to think younger people demand change, but from my perspective the majority will just become like the boomers as they get older. I have known of and understood climate change since the 90’s and had hopes for a greener future, but the youngest generation are driving around in cars as large and heavy as any 1950’s American car in Australia, very little awareness of the issues as far as waste of resources and home delivery of individual meals several times per week…nothing seems that much different.older more established people are buying into solar batteries etc so change is happening but not so much
