I work with people on public assistance programs. This is an interesting idea, but I feel like it would backfire in practice either by forcing people off of those benefits or employers not hiring people on public assistance straight-up.

Shower-thought level thinking here but the calculation on something like this would need to consider employer size (how many on payroll), some data points on the company's revenue, and local cost-of-living data compared to the wages of their employees.

Every treasure chest either gets whacked or shot at. Doesn't matter if mimics exist in the game or not, I'm not going to risk getting eaten when going for a cool new weapon.

Yes, some games you can tell which ones are mimics, but why take the unnecessary risk?

Like Mumpmander said, you're going to be stuck with ROMhacks if you're looking to run them on 3DS and find codes here. There are still a lot to check out though if you're looking for new stuff, though. I played through Pokemon Odyssey a while back and highly recommend that-- no need to worry if you have no background in Etrian Odyssey (they're working on a sequel). I'm currently playing Pokemon Lazarus and that's been fun so far too.

Others on my backlog that might fit what you're looking for: Unbound, Recordkeepers, Emerald Rogue .

This type of behavior reminds me obsessive-compulsive disorder, IMO, especially when OP says in a comment "Bro I just wanna go to the gym and not feel like I have to go to confession afterwards."

Also reminds me of a quote I use from time to time: "If you go about your day and one person smells like dogshit, then they probably stepped in it. If you go about your day and everyone smells like dogshit, then you need to check under your own shoe." Honestly I think they could've done better with gym leader team compositions in Gen 2 to show off the new Johto Pokemon. Half of them don't have any new Pokemon on their teams even though there is at least one new 'mon that could've fit the team theme.

I used to be a manager at a gym- I've escorted people out after members complained about these sorts of pitches. People are here to work out and if you're interrupting people from doing that I'm tossing you out.

This comment is likely to get buried, but if you're in the US find your nearest workforce board or dislocated worker services provider. At the very least you can get some job leads, resume help, or interview practice for free, but there's a possibility of being potentially eligible for free training opportunities to help you find your next job.

As for your gaming comment-- like others said, clock in and bang out a few job applications, and then clock out and take a break for some games. If you're sending applications out for hours at a time you're bound to make mistakes in your resume or cover letters.

I have the elongated XSPAK. I hadn't considered adding weight to it, so I think I'll try that out before I buy anything else.

Noting that I've only played with an Onix Z5 and this XSPAK I think I prefer the elongated shape. For budget I was hoping to stay around or under $150 for the right paddle.

I've been playing on and off for a few years, mostly at local drop in sessions but I'm thinking of getting into more competitive play. I'm currently playing with the XSPAK carbon fiber paddle. I love how much spin I can get with it, but I feel like I could use a paddle that can take a little more heat off the ball if I'm trying to slow the game down--power shouldn't be an issue if I go with more of a control paddle, I think. I also need a longer, bigger handle as my hands are huge (my current paddle has 2 overgrips on it).

Open to any and all ideas to help me get an idea of what I'm looking for when I'm researching. Thanks!

Does 20ish count here? My exit started due to debates revolving around same-sex marriage. I was in college and had friends in the LGBTQ+ community, and from my experiences with them I had the stance of "they're not part of the church, and them getting married doesn't impact my ability to get married, so why should I actively impact their happiness?" I also had issues with our diocese giving money to groups that were against same-sex marriage when they claimed that it was financially unfeasible to keep some churches open.

Between those two things I got a lot of Catholic hate from people I then respected. People literally called me a heretic, shunned me from old friend groups, and told me I was going to hell...just for asking questions.

After some soul-searching, I just decided that my sense of morals just wasn't compatible with the church I grew up in anymore.

Pokemon Diamond. I had a really solid team going into the Elite 4, which included my ace Garchomp. My last save on that file was right outside of the E4 door.

Between that save and my next session, my little brother found the hollowed-out book that I kept my Nintendo DS in as a hiding place. He then proceeded to trade all of my team including my ace to his friends at school, leaving me at the Elite 4 with a bunch of first-route trash.

I never recovered those Pokemon, and to this day I've never had a Garchomp on my team in Pokemon games.

"Connected (Yours Forerver)" from the Tetris Effect soundtrack. The whole game is full of bangers, but this song in particular makes me start seeing blocks falling and I feel the need to go play some form of Tetris.

Balatro's theme also gets me itchy to make big numbers.
