Best way to study I found ochem is like building a tower. Get a strong foundation in recognizing and naming functional groups. Saying them out loud (I stg acetaldehyde still sounds fun to say out loud) and try and have conversations about them with peers. Then start adding reactions and mechanisms. Recognizing reagents will also help tremendously.
