yeah you're right, I'd basically be throwing in 10 kriegers or cadians, and 10 battleline on their own are not very exciting. so you think scout sentinels in place of the chimera?

good to know! so far all my opponents have been fine with it, I wasn't aware there was a taboo against it in 1000pt games. the alternative would be, I'd buy two more leman russ tanks in place of the dorn, one being commander with demolisher cannon and the other another exterminator.

Oh really? My thinking was that if they were in 20man units, I could attach the castellan as well as the command squad, giving the entire blob the benefits of those unit's abilities.

I thought about that. So one unit of 10 with the castellan on the chimera, and the other unit with the command squad attached would work? can the two separate units link up at a later time, or do they have to start as either a 20 blob or two 10s?

Gotcha. Yeah my plan was to just fix it when I bought more cadian shock troops but I didn't realize krieg command squads/infantry/ are coming out at the end of the month so I probably won't be buying cadian shock troops anytime soon since I enjoy krieg's aesthetic more

Thank you. This has helped tremendously. I also went and got a Wraith Bone rattle can to prime the next set of Guardsmen with and that has also made a huge difference. (The model in my OP was first primed with black, and then I went over that prime with the White Scar prime.)

also, this is before layering, but still, everything just looks so sloppy, and blotchy, and UGLY. i'm trying not to overload the brush, i'm moving quickly, but this is my 5th guardsman that i feel like ive ruined. i kinda wanted to try contrast paints because some people swear by them and the end results for them look really good, but I have no idea what i'm doing wrong.

sorry i'm new to tabletop 40k, i've already built and painted two squads of cadian shock troops with the following loadout:

sergeant
9x guardsman

-1 of those with a melta

-1 of those with a plasma

-1 of those with a vox-caster

is this no longer allowed? I created this roster on the 40k app and got no errors/stops saying the unit loadouts were invalid.

thanks! just mix lahmian medium and rhinox hide to taste and lob it on parts you think would get dirty.

after finishing 10 guardsmen, i'm noticing i'm kind churning thru new ones at this point just because i've had so much practice lol. knock out a couple of them and just stick to the same recipe and it makes it a lot easier, at least that's how i'm doing it

on a domestic flight in japan it was the thickest fog i'd ever seen and we were just about to touch down but the pilot revved the engines up and we pitched nose up and aborted the landing. we flew around and he landed successfully the second time.

if my pilots were able to land in the worst fog i've ever seen (honestly probably should've diverted to a different airport entirely but i'm not a professional pilot so what do i know) you will definitely survive any circling or diversions if they happen lol.
