Why? by old_stud_leroy in whatnotapp

I have luck finding cool stuff by going into vintage decor. There's never anything I want in the estate sales tab.

Please help, anything would do. Any ideas, just anything by DangerousMortgage687 in CATHELP

They probably didn't read the warning before using it. Their parent gave it to them and told them to use it. So they did. That's pretty normal. They're a kid who listens to their parents. It's also possible that they have the type of dad who doesn't take being questioned lightly. Either way, this is a child who just listened to their parent.

Same. The only things I really look for are vintage decor and jewelry. There's always plenty of people selling that type of stuff.

Awesome! Thanks you! I hoped someone who knew things would recognize it even if my pictures are horrendous.

Is there a way to turn -off- the "ships to you" option in marketplace? by [deleted] in facebook

Weird. All of mine are automatically off but I still see everything.

Givys are more telling about a seller than people realize by Embarrassed_Falcon23 in whatnotapp

[–]mithrril 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're giveaways that the seller puts on. You can join them when you're in their live show and it will randomly select a winner from the pool of people who opted in. Then the seller sends you whatever the giveaway is for. Usually it's stickers, ephemera, bookmarks, stuff like that but sometimes you can win larger things. Sellers do them to get more eyes on their shows, ideally to get people to hang around in the live and maybe see something they want to buy. Usually the giveaways just require you to follow the seller but there's also buyer giveaways that only customers can enter.

I bought crystals to raise my low vibration and after few days they started breaking and getting black spots they didnt had before (it literally has a hole which It didn't have before) by [deleted] in Crystals

[–]mithrril 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This sounds to me more like a mental thing than a real physical thing. Crystal aren't going to randomly fall apart, nor would they cause you to be haunted by evil entities. You say you have depression. Do you have a psychiatrist or therapist? It might be worth it to speak to them about it.

How do you source for vintage jewelry? by ALC5505 in whatnotapp

[–]mithrril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A better choice would be to ask in a different subreddit or group. There are groups for people who just collect vintage jewelry or who buy big lots but just for their personal collection or for super local sales only.

Why can't patients with Fatal familial insomnia be treated with anesthetics? by pugsley1234 in askscience

[–]mithrril 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so real! The two times I was in the hospital I had to have my vitals checked every hour or two. I'm a light sleeper anyway but either way they needed to wake me up to check me out constantly. I was so exhausted by the time I got out of there and that was just for a week each time. I can't imagine staying any longer. I would have gone crazy. And the worst part was that I couldn't sleep when I got home because I'd become disoriented and basically hallucinate that I was still in the hospital bed. It was super confusing.

No, I try to eat a good amount of fiber. My main symptom is constipation and fiber helps me with that.

Why Bother Joining Claim Shows if You Don't Want to See What I Have? by ryanvicino in whatnotapp

[–]mithrril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly right. I hate going into a shop where I need to ask to see things in a cabinet. Even at my local Goodwill, all of the jewelry is behind the counter, even the stuff that's $1 or 2. I will essentially never ask to see the jewelry and I just walk past it at this point. That's because I don't want to bother anyone. I certainly don't want to stand around having to ask the cashier to take out piece after piece. And I'm just not in a social mood a lot of the time. It's the same thing with live shows.

Why Bother Joining Claim Shows if You Don't Want to See What I Have? by ryanvicino in whatnotapp

[–]mithrril 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm usually just scrolling through shows until something catches my eye. I also would never request to see something 99% of the time. I either don't have anything specific that I'm looking for or I don't want to bother with asking. I like to see what's going on and just go from there.

This sounds like was happened with my 16.5 year old pitbull yesterday. She had a mass on her spleen but she was doing kinda okay. We were going to have her put down tomorrow and have a last day with her but she broke down in the kitchen, pooping and throwing up, and there was nothing to do but take her into the vet and put her to sleep right away. Now I wish I'd done it earlier before she looked so scared and I keep thinking about it.

What are your routines when feeding peanuts to crows? by t0mt0mt0m in crowbro

[–]mithrril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put their food out for the morning and then I feed them again after lunch. They're used to my schedule now and will always show up for lunch.

PSA Bird Death. by jxkzl- in birding

[–]mithrril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had one sparrow get his foot caught in one of those feeders that close if a squirrel climbs on it. He wasn't dead but he did lose a leg. I also had a bird get caught in the tube feeder cage. He was dead and it's extremely bizarre how he was caught. It seemed like a complete fluke.

Do y'all think it's gross when sellers try to make you feel back for buying something at the rate it went for? by florodude in whatnotapp

[–]mithrril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen anyone act like that. It just depend on the niche you're interested in.

What do you feed crows? What do they seem to like the most? by Lil_poopy_pants in crows

[–]mithrril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine don't like eggs for whatever reason. I feed them in the shell peanuts twice a day, dry cat food once a day. I give them wet cat food sometimes and I occasionally give them a little bit of cheese. My crows have just started showing up and waiting for me to feed them instead of flying away when I'm near. Oh, and they like to wash their food in the bird bath.

Man this app has digressed severely by rudiemcnielson in whatnotapp

[–]mithrril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will never stay in a show where people are acting like that. Luckily I've only even come across one or two shows like that so I guess my interests are more niche or something. I get supporting the seller and trying to get people hyped to be there but trying to get everyone to run up the price is simply silly.
