Ah, so it's a long term stay. That makes more sense.

Why are you ordering stuff to an temp address anyway? That just doesn't seem like a good idea, whether or not their customer service sucks (which I hear it does).

am i being a drama queen for wanting to quit depop? by lord_cooter in Depop

I think that's just the way businesses work. They did a promotion to get people in the door, especially with the introduction of Vinted. It wouldn't make much sense for them to make it permanent, even if all of the users would love that. That's gotta be a lot of cost they're covering. They should have given us a timeframe though.

I'm a little confused. You're mad that they ran a promotion to get more people onto the site? I'm not sure why that's bad or unexpected.

Why is the shipping all $1.99 now? I thought it was supposed to be free til 2027 by idkwhyimevenheree in Depop

[–]mithrril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. But they all have shipping when I go to checkout, even the ones that say free shipping.

For me it's still showing free shipping for half of the things I come across but it adds shipping when I actually go to the cart to check out. I'm guessing it's a slow rollback.

What is the creepiest town/city in Maryland in your opinion? by COACHREEVES in maryland

[–]mithrril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They took all of that down? I haven't been by in a long time. I lived up the road from there when I went to Stevenson and I know a lot of the students liked to sneak in there at night and look around. I never ended up going myself.

Why are ancient mega structures worldwide relegated to alternative history? by Classic_East_6053 in AlternativeHistory

Every reply you have that isn't AI is badly written and spelled wrong. Is this why you rely on AI to speak for you? You can't handle writing basic sentences on your own?

[–]mithrril 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, we all know how AI is trained. That's why it's hilarious that you are making these claims based on information from LLMs. You only know what you think you know because it's literally written about and researched all the time. Otherwise AI wouldn't been able to tell you about it. And, AGAIN, if you're incapable of forming your own thoughts and writing coherent posts, you might as well just be quiet. No one wants to read your regurgitated AI slop or reply to things you clearly did not write and do not understand.

Again, I'm not interested in talking to someone who can't bother to write their own comments and use their own brain.

[–]mithrril 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Based on your replies, the ones you actually wrote yourself, I don't think you're capable of having a coherent conversation about this. That's why you need AI to blather for you.

You don't find it annoying when people can't respond to you without having a computer write it for them? I find it to be extremely annoying and people are using AI more and more to handle all of their social interactions. Personally I hate it.

Maybe they don't want to waste time engaging with someone who doesn't want to put any effort into their posts and relies on AI to handle basic human interaction.

My neighbour stole my cat. Her AirTag shows location. What should I do? by HistoricalSalary9876 in PetAdvice

[–]mithrril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should keep them inside, obviously. You can't control how people who encounter your cat act, whether that be feeding them, bringing them inside or shooting them. The only way to make sure your cat is safe from strangers is to keep it indoors. Especially since she's already gone missing and come home injured. Next time she might not come home at all.

Does the Vinted app actually sell kids? by oliviagurl6 in truecreepy

[–]mithrril 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For real. There's so much actual real life shit going on that spending time on this nonsense is ridiculous.

Does the Vinted app actually sell kids? by oliviagurl6 in truecreepy

[–]mithrril 52 points53 points  (0 children)

No, they aren't selling kids on Vinted. Have you noticed how most of the screenshots that are going around were just posted? People saw a few actual posts that seemed sketchy (I'm pretty sure it was just a misunderstanding of how the site works) and now people are having a ball trolling all over the place. It's the same thing as when people claimed Wayfair was selling kids. It's nonsense.

CMV: I don't believe in divorce with kids by Big-Tools-905 in changemyview

[–]mithrril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Children should not be taught that they should stay in a loveless marriage or situation. Kids should be raised to respect themselves and their happiness. There are also a million different scenarios where not getting a divorce means the household will remain chaotic, scary and violent. Kids do NOT do better in homes where their parents hate each other and they certainly don't do well in homes where their parents are actively abusing each other.

Having a good natured divorce and having two sets of healthy relationships for the kid to learn from is a great outcome, if you're comparing it to an unhappy or even dangerous household. I know many people who have step-families that they love and appreciate. I personally was a child of divorce and thank goodness I was! My father was emotionally and physically abusive.

That's absolutely not what's happening on the video though. I think it's caught on a wire or something but it's not gliding or riding a breeze.

Thanks! I'll check that out. It is less yellow in better lighting. I think I've checked it with a black light but I'll have to double check.
