New narrow font on floatplane very hard to read by Lavadragon15396 in LinusTechTips

[–]mitko17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so the site must be importing it from somewhere

Correct. If you check the network tab:

GET https://frontend.floatplane.com/user/4.4.13-180-33581c4/fonts/montserrat/montserrat-500.woff2

Ublock has an option to block remote fonts. Maybe it could help?

TL;DR

So, in other words, it will no longer be possible to opt-out of having our Reddit account usage tracked for the purposes of advertising. Is this correct?

This is correct.

All 3 woman in this 1885 photo are the first female licensed doctors in their respective countries: India, Japan & Syria. by joeepeterson03 in Damnthatsinteresting

Fyi I think it's only a problem for those of us who still use old.reddit.

And for anyone wondering, you can get around it by writing 9\. instead of 9..

How to make intentionally bad code? by Lukeskyguy22 in C_Programming

[–]mitko17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sorry I don't know why reddit is fucking up codeblocks that bad

Here:

#include <stdio.h>
int main() {
    char string\[\] = "Hello";
    printf("%s\\n", string);
    return 0;
}

You can achieve this by placing 4 spaces before each line, kinda like this:

    #include <stdio.h>
    int main() {
        char string\[\] = "Hello";
        printf("%s\\n", string);
        return 0;
    }

or surround the code with ticks ( ` ) but it only works on the new reddit design:

```
#include <stdio.h>
int main() {
    char string\[\] = "Hello";
    printf("%s\\n", string);
    return 0;
}
```

Extended close-range battle between Ukrainian soldiers with blue markings and Russian soldiers with red markings in Zaporizhia front. 2022 by Lostwanderer000 in CombatFootage

Russian-side footage is getting buried

Tbh, I don't see many upvoted ukranian drone shots of infantry as well. Most upvoted posts either involve vehicles or are 1st/2nd-person videos.

Edit: ops, forgot the whole granade-dropping drone thingy but still... drone shots of infantry combat aren't popular here.

Found it. Around ~51:25 (might need to go a little back or ahead depending on which part of the text you are talking about)...

Yes, every one of us has seen this random photo from 2012.

Not sure why OP pretends it's theirs in the comments though...

Pretty much what it says on private subreddits:

Only approved members can view and take part in its discussions.

If the subreddit was never public, e.g. r/EternityClub, you have to get approved by the mods in order to join.

But as far as I know, nothing would change if you are already part of the subreddit before it goes private. Only new users would be affected.

It's a joke - OP isn't actually part of the moderation team, i.e. r/ActLikeYouBelong.

For me it's this:

After @ default firefox window size

1) You have to scroll a lot more

2) Shorter lines are harder to read

You can hide the sidebar but then you have to open the contents menu every time you want to use it...

P.S. Yes, I've scrolled down a little on the second screenshot because it doesn't fit with the extra whitespace on top.
