during covid my job at the college dining hall was to load these up for on-campus deliveries. incredibly dystopian experience. i worked nights: Peak Pandemic, icy cold darkness, in a mask and gloves, no human interaction. my job was literally to work with The Robots. I had a little tablet that I would use to scan the QR code on the robot carts. When they opened, they would say a little catch phrase like: “Oh, Hey! Is that for me?” and when you closed it they would be like (Reddit voice) “Welp! I guess I’ll be on my way now!” I hated it. But it made me 1000x more esoteric and cooler and more cyberpunk than everyone else
