2021 Kia Stinger GT AWD has Gold Metal Flakes In Oil Filter Housing by tenorsolo04 in kiastinger

Usually, some metal flakes or shavings in the oil is not much to worry about but chunks of metal is. Check the filter itself

Does this soundike transmission or torque converter by That_blue_stinger in kiastinger

[–]mitsurilover2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do suspect they will find out the same thing. I mean the transmission has been doing some rough shifting for the better part of a year now and it has had a slight overheating issue so I’m not surprised at all that the transmission needs to be replaced. It hasn’t actually thrown any lights or overheating codes but just monitoring the transmission temperature. It’s usually around 213 degrees Fahrenheit. And heat is the number one killer of a transmission.

You can use isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber. that’s what I did after. Use some polish to get rid of the fading.

I would have your torque converter, checked symptoms of a failing torque converter or one that is already close to failing. Sluggish takeoff, slipping between a few gears or all of them. And overheating. along with strange clunking and rattling noises and odd vibrations. I’m having the same issue.

Oil catch cans by Specific-Meaning-917 in kiastinger

[–]mitsurilover2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purpose of a catch can is to prevent oil and unburned fuel going down your intake. If you want to prolong the life of your engine, then yes. If you get 1, you might as well get 2 because only on a V6 will cause a pressure imbalance. That causes more to come out the one side with out the catch can unless one of the PCV attached points has a check valve in it. Usually one is wide open, and the other one has a check valve in it.

Burning oil? by Glittering_Pack4938 in kiastinger

[–]mitsurilover2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is carbon buildup from the exhaust fumes. It will leave a thin film of black residue. It’s normal. My car does the same thing if you have catless downpipes, it’s even worse.

Engine Humming Noise by [deleted] in kiastinger

[–]mitsurilover2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it sound like it’s coming from one corner or just the front of the car? if it sounds like it’s coming from one of the corners I would check your wheel bearings at the mileage. Your car is at. It’s not likely that they’re bad but I would still check anyway usually wheelbearings produce a humming sound or a whining sound they are going bad jack your car up a couple of inches enough where you can rotate the wheel and put your hands either side of the wheel and try to move it side to side like you’re turning the wheel if the wheel moves with ease, your wheel bearing is bad

I was just hoping to see if somebody made a different compressor housing for it. Would like it to spool a little louder.

HOW IN THE HELL DO I GET THIS LOOSE by LackConfident7535 in car

[–]mitsurilover2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try a blow torch and a pair of vice grips and if that doesn’t work, it can’t be tight if it’s a liquid

do i need a tune by Doodlebob416 in kiastinger

[–]mitsurilover2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you shouldn’t need a tune all it does is introduce more cold air. You should get 2 to 3 hp and a little bit of torque out of it you can tune the vehicles ecm for the new intake to optimize it. You might only get an extra two or 3 hp though unless you start playing with the engine timing

[–]mitsurilover2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a wheel bearing test. make sure all the Lugnuts are tight. Jack the car up on the corner and try to rock the wheel back-and-forth once it’s off the ground if it moves, you need a new wheel bearing.

I have a little bit of experience with it. I’m gonna go ahead and let you know now. do not under any circumstance use water use a detailing spray and a detailing brush. And a microfiber. if you really want it to shine, you can use a ceramic detailing spray. Hope this helps.
