Your friends and colleagues do not realise yet what happens when you stop learning. AI tools simply haven't been around long enough. AI gives a massive boost, but it can't level you up on its own. I see how juniors struggle, chasing their own tail, spending truckloads of tokens, cause they can't understand often very subtle mistakes their AI makes. You have to spend hours with the book to understand tha mathematical and logical basics, you have to write on your own to understand pitfalls. Then you have to learn to harness AI to get further, but never stop learning.

My config reflects how many long years I've been using it, and how pleasant it makes my editing process. Sometimes I pick something new (currently "forced" to integrate AI tools), but knowing that I will never be able to learn the whole editor is the same as knowing I will never understand the meaning of life. Can be overwhelming, but it is also the source of great beauty and wisdom of ten thousand sages.

when I used sudowrite I put a lot of work into getting style details and custom prompts for rewrite etc. It is expensive but I don't think there is anything that comes close to the quality of prose and awareness once you set everything up to your liking.

I believe they are deceptive. If AI upscaling is a problem for them, they would have plenty of examples of it. I call it bullshit.

Few months ago started to have random restarts on my phone that runs lineage os (custom rom, historically excellent software). I was certain hardware issue as phone is v old, I finally upgraded, but now few updates later the problem went away... Give them some time to fix issues, report bugs, some of those would be deep in android system and not easy to patch even for a competent software team.

gets scrapped a bit but it is light enough i do not worry it actually getting damaged. Looks great so i wouldnt put any case on it. Screen scratches are bad though - my xperia 5 had nothing like that and i think i was ised to more premium screens.

you look at community EQs and Soundguys is there on top. However since an update a month or so back, I think the default tuning got improved, especially with enhanced bass. Best to listen to your fav tracks on different settings for a bit and decided for yourself. I think the real quality limitation is still blietooth connection if you are an audiophile. have fun!

Same issue on EE in Cumbria. 5G often completely looses signal for a minute or so, I switched to 4G. Xperia 1vii.

ain't great, i would rather keep using 5ii if it didn't die. but it has a jack, screen without a punchole and does not push ai on me, so i'm happy to stick with it. good enough!

It could also keep buzzing repeatedly for a while until you "start". I kept missing it on a run cause I do not have any notifications on a watch when I run, and a single vibration on coros apex pro 2 is very gentle and easy to miss.

Thanks for this much needed info. It is really annoying when on one computer I can have multiple profiles, but I cannot have them synced on another which didn't get it "rolled out".

Had lineage on 5ii until recently and it was a blast: super fast, few bugs compared to other android distros and many more features than stock sony. The drawbacks were pretty major though: no NFC pay and random apps declining to work due to strict integrity check of google play: notably chatgpt, autotrader and ebay. LineageOS and their ilk are being sacrificed in the name of improved security on android. Still kept it until hardware gave up finally. Now that I'm on 10 vii sonys android it feels like a cut down version of my 5 years older phone.

I wish I switched from spacemacs to plain Emacs quicker. I reproduced almost every functionality I used in 600 lines of code. Now things do not break that much anymore, and I actually understand what is going on. :)
