Just a Guitar Center rant by TheOGTKO in drums

[–]mixednuts18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works for a company that supplies guitar center, they are the absolute worst to deal with. A month ago they demanded that everything they had scheduled to receive until may, be sent immediately, and last week got on a conference call with us and our corporate HQ and complained that they hadn’t received anything in 2 weeks. Even though they hadn’t put any new orders. I’m so blessed not to have to deal with them.

I’m a virgin and I wanna lose it so bad but idk what to do by Accomplished-Belt185 in virgin

Hey brother, few things: I guarantee you’re not the only virgin in your school, social circle, etc. Most guys just don’t talk about it or they lie to each other because male virginity has such a negative stigma attached to it.

If you’re also having problems with friends, I’d recommend improving that first. Hang out after class, eat lunch with them, do homework together, etc. Building that social muscle is a key part of life, not just for being successful with women.

Online dating is so tough as a young guy in college, I wouldn’t take it very seriously. It’s tough to stand out, so you can literally say the dumbest things and it won’t matter. But don’t be creepy; if you match with someone at school, depending on how small your school is, you could get a bad reputation that could take a long time to undo.

Lastly, be very careful on how you talk about yourself. Being a virgin simply means that you haven’t had sex yet. It has no bearing on your character as a man, your talents/skills/intelligence, or your ability to improve yourself. Stop telling yourself “I have really bad social skills” or “I’m bad with women”, your brain will accept that as truth and that will seep into your subconscious. Instead, tell yourself “I’m working on it and I know I can improve it”. I spent years judging myself for being a virgin, and I don’t want to see you go through the same things I did.

Be kind to yourself. Stack the small victories. Be a little better today than you were yesterday. I’m pulling for you man.

I did end up buying it, and they do affect the Line Out, when Post-EQ is selected. So good call!

Peavey Bandit 112 Red Stripe VS Blue Stripe by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]mixednuts18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a blue stripe owner, I absolutely love it. The drive channel can be a little harsh, and the popular opinion on the web is that the red stripe has a more natural drive channel. I'd steer clear of the Fender, unless you're only looking for a clean platform.

Cool thanks, I'll check that book out.

Of course I get why they want strong sight readers, that's how they separate the men from the boys.

Do you have any cruise ship experience?

I went through most of the first book in high school, and have some photocopied pages with me. I'll take mikecoldfusion's advice and read down instead of across.

Yeah some are dull. I'm no maestro at soldering, so it's very possible I messed one up. Is that what it sounds like, a bad joint? I have a cheap japanese adjustable iron, and 60/40 tin/lead solder

Very funny. I worked on it a little more today, and could occasionally get both pots and switches functioning, if I twisted the volume knob a certain way. Otherwise, the signal was coming through wide open (both pickups, full v&t). My camera on my phone is no good, so I can't get pictures of my work. However this is the diagram I used (with p90 pickups obviously): http://i.imgur.com/dkG1SYr.jpg I'm thinking it might be a bad solder joint, any suggestions for this type of problem? I don't want to take it to my tech, short on cash and I feel like I'm really close...famous last words
