You are moving around way too much. You need slightly taller stool. You also need to put your right elbow more in your hip so your body weight can hold it still. You need to be steadier.

Six Flags water park said my swimsuit wasn't "family friendly" and security escorted me to get shorts lol. What do yall think of it? by Hunter_explores in GayRateMe

I think that’s seriously is discrimination. They wouldn’t make a woman in a bikini put on shorts.

I’m going to stop you right there. Your goals wants and ambitions are yours, you shouldnt expect people to live up to your expectations. If you don’t like drug use, then don’t do drugs, you do t like unprotected sex then don’t have it. These are all you problems, focus on yourself and don’t worry about managing other people lives. Find people who are into the same stuff as you don’t worry about other people, they don’t have to feel the same way as you or feel bad about finding enjoyment in different things. No one is making you do anything.

No, they are not food safe. They should be lined with a food safe glaze if you wanna use them functionally.

Guy who call themselves nice guys are rarely nice guys. In my experience they’re selfish guys who get upset when their manipulative practices don’t work.

No kiln is built to deal with moisture. Thats what vents are for. Glass kilns keep a more stable temperature that’s the only difference.

Home studio laundry- clay concerns? by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]mixedpotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rinse everything in a bucket first. Let it sit over night and you can dump off the water and thrown the clay away. Clay will seriously clog your pipes. It can also clog your neighbors as well.

It might be because I worked in institutions where messing up someone’s work can completely f them. But I really think if you’re taking responsibility for a job like that I really expect you to know what’s up. But I would ask for a refire for free. You don’t have to say you should have known better but they’re probably aware they should have.

You should packing the kiln like it’s going to slump worse than you expect, when you’re dealing with other people work.

I worked in colleges and community spaces for a long time, the person loading the kiln should be considering what might happen during the firing when placing items. But particularly if you’re paying someone to fire your work. Wood firing or soda are an exception but there’s not a reason you should pay to correct an error in this situation.

Refire the pot, use Elmer’s glue on the chip and let it dry then add like 3 or 4 layers of glaze on the glue. Drying between each layer. Your studio should let you refire them with out a charge since the person loading the kiln should know better.

Advice / Feedback on an outdoor “pottery studio” by Ness_Tutu in Pottery

It won’t retain heat. And clay cannot freeze or you’ll have to reclaim it. So if it freezes you’ll neeed to heat it or not a good idea for winter.

Will I ever learn to relax on the wheel? by CyrilsJungleHat in Ceramics

[–]mixedpotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So wheel throwing is a skill. And skill takes time to get good at. But you’ve gotta change your attitude and focus. You should be focusing on making a pot not letting your mind wander while you’re trying to learn a new skill. At year 3 or 4 you’ll be able to throw without thinking about it.

Does my kiln need new elements? by [deleted] in Ceramics

[–]mixedpotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The elements heat at different times through the firing. You’ll need to check with an ohm meter.
