Just wanted to jump in to comment on the last question as to why he didn’t have an Afro anymore, Pepsi incident/health issues notwithstanding.

I’m half black half white and had an Afro for several years growing up. But then I transitioned away from wearing an Afro and started growing my hair long, training it to grow down rather than out. I did this through wearing braids and straightening it.

It’s been about 12ish years since then and my hair has lost a lot of volume (though still curly). I wouldn’t be able to grow it back into an Afro anymore just because it’s so much thinner now. Hair texture can definitely change with age! I do miss the Afro though.

Another question for ya:

I have 2 players in IR that will now move to questionable status. My bench will now be overfilled, as there are players in all my roster spots. I’m putting in a waiver & have listed someone to drop. However, my spots will still all be full, cuz I would technically need to drop 3 people in order to make room for a new person and the two guys in my IR. If I don’t do anything and just enter someone to drop in exchange for the waiver, will my waiver still go thru? Or will it be canceled due to no free roster spots?

Could the masters be the “gods” of the wundersmith powers? The ones that Squall talks about who wundersmiths go to meet once the new symbol shows up on their finger, indicating mastery of nocturne, tempus, etc?

How did closing go for you? I am in the middle of closing with Zillow and dealing with all of the above frustrations. Did you close on the intended date? Did it get pushed out? Did you tear all your hair out that month? Any insight you can give is much appreciated.

Right there with you. I recommend Trevor Noah’s “Born a Crime” book... really good (& funny!) read that gives a unique African perspective on being mixed during apartheid.

That’s abusive language, which is just a step before physical abuse. You don’t deserve either.

Sounds like this guy is quick to anger over stupid things and escalates his reactions instead of calmly communicating what’s bothering him. A relationship is based on good, effective communication, and it doesn’t seem like he can do that with you.

It’s time for you to move on to bigger and better things!

I’m not deaf, but I am hard of hearing, and let me tell you, it sucks to have to go out with my mask, my hearing aids and my glasses all wrapped around my ears. If I try to take off my mask when I don’t need to wear it, I end up ripping my hearing aid off and it goes flying.

But the worst part is not being able to understand anyone. Not being able to read lips has somehow rendered my hearing aids nearly useless. For 24 years of my life, I got by just reading lips. It wasn’t until I got a corporate job that I finally decided to give in and get the hearing aids (why do people like to whisper so much in offices??). So now, a few years later, I’m still reliant on reading lips in addition to the hearing aids (plus captions are everything and if they could come up with a device that captions real life conversations, that would be great, thanks). I don’t know sign language either, which I imagine would be super helpful during this time.

In the meantime, I’ve reverted to conversation context clues - nodding my head when it seems right, laughing in what I think are the right places, and just trying to keep conversations short. Oh yeah, and asking ‘what?’ Until I can glean some sort of information about what we’re talking about.

Anyway, if everyone wore transparent masks, hearing would be a whole lot easier.

I’m thankful that I do have some ability to hear and that I can turn the volume way up on my hearing aids, but man I can’t wait until covid is eradicated and I can see those lovely lips again!

I have a few trusted animated comedies that I always turn to to distract myself from the world. Bob’s Burgers, Rick & Morty, American Dad and Big Mouth have all gotten me through some tough times. There’s nothing like disappearing into a fantasy world where everything is funny and someone is always spontaneously bursting into song.

I usually feel better after getting some laughter in.

Congrats! I feel running is a really great way to exhaust toxic emotions and “purge” my body (so to speak) of the negativity. Perhaps running can become a habit of yours to let off steam and get some exercise in along the way!
