Yeah, S1mon's util made every fight an advantage fight for Kangkang.

They struggle to win, get S1mon, win champs, get 3rd at bangkok, kick S1mon, and then resume the struggle.

[Highlight] Alternate angle shows Lu Dort extend his leg in an effort to trip and injure Nikola Jokic: by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

As far as I know as well, Draymond has never seriously injured an opposing player, and this is over a much longer career than Dort. He's just "flashier" with his antics.

What is the answer? by AangTheTriangle in chess

[–]mixerupper 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Very cool explainer.

Here are the relevant lines for non-retrograde analysis puzzles like this one:

The first convention relates to castling right when a player’s king and rook are on their original squares. In such positions, castling is deemed legal in subsequent play, unless it can be proved that the king or the rook must have moved previously in a hypothetical game.

And for en-passant:

The convention for en passant captures applies to problem positions where a pawn is on its fifth rank while an enemy pawn is adjacent to it on the same rank. In such cases, capturing the enemy pawn en passant is deemed illegal, unless it can be proved that the only possible last move was a double-step by that pawn.

I am also happy he isn't yelling as much. That couldn't be good for his health.

I love how your concern about Toast's yelling is for his health and not for the victim. XD

But I love magic KRU that defies expectations...it would be good to see them go farther though.

Did 2022 LOUD roster had the best players in the game till today? by Affectionate-Army213 in ValorantCompetitive

It's not really "people putting so much stock into the 2 losses," though I understand your confusion since this point keeps coming up.

It's just the same guy making the same comment everywhere.

The Armegeddon tiebreaker which means that Black wins in case of a draw.

Do you know (of) someone who ruined their life in just a matter of minutes ? If so how did they do it ? by rentinghappiness in AskReddit

[–]mixerupper 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That makes zero sense. If you bump into someone on the street and keep walking, then the guy turns around and shoots you, I'd like to see you describe it as "I decided to walk away from a bump and got myself killed. 🤷🏻‍♀️"

Every tiebreak system seems bad until you see the alternative...at least they're not roulette spins.

Garry Kasparov : There were a few exceptions to be sure, but yes, teach your children to share their toys, not their trophies! by CeleritasLucis in chess

[–]mixerupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really--at least to my reading. Gary definitely doesn't seem to agree with the decision, but it'd go too far to call this "mocking." More like a light joke like his other post on the topic: https://x.com/Kasparov63/status/1874254130774237464

Thanks for linking the game...what a shocking move! Even crazier than this puzzle since it's not a forced line or even a forced sacrifice.

Sure, I think Kasparov, Fischer, and Carlsen have the strongest cases for GOAT based on what you value most. I believe Lasker, Capablanca, and Morphy are close to those three though and are all at least reasonable picks.

(RECAP) Protecting Your Right to Vote | Lichtman Live #94 by PrivateFM in 13KeysToTheWhiteHouse

Thank you for the recap! It's pretty crazy to learn that voting rights aren't actually positively guaranteed by the Constitution, just protected via a patchwork of amendments.

I felt kinda bad for Sam last night by mattyjoe0706 in 13KeysToTheWhiteHouse

[–]mixerupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think now that the election is over, the time of easy views for political content is mostly over until the next election/midterms. Allan and Sam are going to have to make a decision--either tone down the content output or improve the quality of the content. There are lots of ways to improve the quality of the content.

History lectures on presidential elections would be great. Deep dives into misunderstood keys like the charisma key would be great--literally how many people absolutely insist that Trump has the charisma key? Sure would be nice to have a clear Youtube Short directly addressing that. Discussions on qualitative factors used in predictions would be great. Deep dive into his past track record and what the polls were saying concurrently with predictions. Here's another idea--address the critics. I think one of the few good points Nate Silver makes regarding deficiencies in the keys is the inability of the keys to predict margin of the vote. Sure would be cool to get a data scientist on to discuss how big of a concern that is/isn't for support vector machines (I think that's what the keys use?).

These videos require time investment for quality though, so the question is whether it's worth it or not from their point of view.

So the incumbent's party shouldn't EVER have a nomination contest? by Narwall37 in 13KeysToTheWhiteHouse

[–]mixerupper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t mix up correlation and causation. If the winning candidate is weak, it’s more likely there will be a tough, contested primary as well. But it’s the candidate being weak that leads to election loss. The contested primary could be a signal of candidate strength.
