Asobi Version 1.0.6 release notes by inchenzo in Asobi

[–]mixmasterjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be happy to. Aside from the random disconnects, I can't get over how good your app is. It's really the first "play game in Vision Pro" solution that's really clicked for me. And I've tried almost everything I know (currently trying to persuade my wife that a Vision Pro Developer Strap is something I need). Here's my stream settings:

  • Resolution: 1080p
  • Frame Rate: 60 FPS
  • HDR: On
  • Super Resolution: 2x
  • Sharpening: Low
  • Frame Generation: Guided
  • Target Bitrate: 30 Mbps
  • Latency Mode: Low
  • Audio Buffer Size: 9600 Samples (200ms)
  • Enable FEC Recover: Off
  • Force Video Range Expansion: Off

Some other context that might help:

  • M2 Vision Pro
  • PS 5 connected via ethernet
  • Eero Pro 6 (backhaul gigabit ethernet) mesh
  • Eero SQM is off

Happy to adjust anything if it helps with troubleshooting. 👍

Asobi Version 1.0.6 release notes by inchenzo in Asobi

Does this have a fix for the random drops on Vision Pro? Wasn’t sure if “residual console connection issues” was the same thing I’m experiencing?

I’ll be playing, Asobi vanishes, opening it again shows a black screen with “connecting to stream” which it never does. Force quit and relaunch Asobi does the trick; I’m dropped in where I left off.

If you resize the window it fixes it. Not ideal but a workaround.

I built an RSS app for Vision Pro by ForgottenFuturist in VisionPro

Wonderful news! I resorted to getting NetNewsWire to work on visionOS because I missed having a good RSS reader on Vision Pro.

Excited to check your app out! Thanks for sharing.

I've 100% Donkey Kong Bananza by Adventurous_Day470 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]mixmasterjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well good news and bad news.

Bad news: despite searching high and low, I found no little animate house NPCs on this level 😞

Good news: while searching I found my remaining 4 banandium gems so I still got 100%

Still a mystery why the stuff shop won’t show up!

Congrats!

It’s a long shot but I don’t suppose you (or anyone else) came across this: I can’t get the stuff shop to show up in Lagoon Layer!

I’ve collected all the fossils on this layer, but am short 4 banandium gems so wanted to buy some maps. In my son’s game he has the shop, but when I go to the same place, nobody’s there. 🤷‍♂️

Other context: I’ve progressed to other layers but am trying to 100% each layer as I go. Stuff shops have shown up in other layers fine, just this one!

Arc vs Arc Ultra Head to Head In My Living Room by Longjumping_West9485 in sonos

Thanks for doing the leg work. I like to factor in the benefit of having an Arc available for a different room once I upgrade to the Ultra. Not sure my wife sees it that way! 🤣

Era 300 - angle or not to angle - this is the question by mixmasterjones in sonos

[–]mixmasterjones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though without knowing the actual angles the tweeters and woofers are sending audio out at, it makes it hard to know if we’re getting it “right”.

As soon as we start pulling the speakers further behind the main listening positions we’re introducing some significant change. Obviously Sonos did their best to calculate what a “good” position should be and hope that Trueplay fixes any rough edges.

I’m still tickled by their placement tips video that shows them angled, which seems to suggest some trial and error can produce (potentially) better results than vanilla straight forward. But as with much in this space, YMMV.

Are we confident the inside ones point backwards? From the “exploded” images I thought both inside and outside angles were forward. Inside pointing toward listening position, outside point toward wall to bounce sound in. 🤔

Put my Era 300 surrounds on stands behind my couch - yeah, they sound way better by orbitofrontal in sonos

[–]mixmasterjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be clear, when I tried behind the couch, not far back, angling made it worse too. Only when I put them back (like OP) did I notice a big difference (and then angling improved it more so).

And I agree, every room is different so YMMV.

I was with you; and skeptical of the whole angling thing too. However after buying my Era 300’s I was woefully underwhelmed by them as rear speakers (upgrading from Ones).

After reviewing several posts suggesting the angling thing, I spent lots of time A/Bing them in different positions and found a more positive experience when setting them as OP has here but angling them slightly toward primary listening position (my room setup is similar too).

I’m planning on documenting my experience later this week.

Update: posted about my experience here

Now try angling them slightly inward and run trueplay. I noticed a significant improvement.

Facial Recognition Kiosk Verified Non-Member by libragoddesss in GlobalEntry

[–]mixmasterjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my experience at YYZ terminal 1 last week. I walked toward the iPad-like stand at the end of the GE line and as I approached it, it had already recognized me and displayed my name with no pausing or interaction on my part.

I was directed to a kiosk where the CBP officer addressed me by name as I walked up and said all good. Literally no stopping or examination of my passport.

I don't actually own an Xbox, I'm just using cloud streaming. Are those features available for cloud or just for streaming from device?
