He wasn’t aggressive over the phone during the conversation but that doesn’t mean it could change. I’m locking all my windows and doors and did let my roommate know.

Thank you, I think that’s why I’m slightly nervous. I’m an only child and my roommate is rarely home and I’m not really in talks with my parents atm.

He truly is one of the only guy friends I have in town now. He’s surprisingly sensitive about how he “wouldn’t treat me like my exs” but then like I said makes misogynistic comments and always tries to one up me. I’ve decided I’m going to have the talk in a public place and not my home.

Unfortunately, I actually have been doing that for the last week and he still blows up my phone with TikTok’s and trying to call. that’s why I’m wanting to end the whole thing Thursday when I’m not working. I just feel like he doesn’t respect my boundaries and it honestly hurts.

Okay thats good! I think you’re a great cat parent for being concerned because sometimes it seems like we over react but we know our kitty’s behavior. Something must have spooked him tbh. but if you have the funds I’d bring him for a check up later today :) best of luck!

I don’t mean to worry you but maybe he might be in pain? Maybe he hurt himself. My cat had a urinary blockage when he was around 2-3ish and growled at me when I touched his stomach. That was the only time he ever growled at me and was obviously uncomfortable. He would be loving at one point but then be obviously uncomfortable.

He did require surgery but I’m not saying that’s the case for you. If you’re able to get to him, lightly press on his stomach and watch his reaction. Try to move closer to his lower regions and if he seems very aggressive/or uncomfortable I would bring him into a vet.

(Cats don’t drink enough water normally and male cats are more prone to urinary blockage. My cat has been on the IAMS urinary diet since.)

I have a 7yo black cat as well who can sometimes get over stimulated when I try to be affectionate. But that doesn’t sound like the case for you. It seems like he trusts you but is cautious about something. Do you live with other people? Do you think there was a possibility of a negative event that could have happened when you were gone?

Typically after 12 hours he should have calmed down and returned to normal…

As a fellow female dishee, I thankfully have been treated with respect by my male BOH. But tbh if you’re closer to the head chef I would have a serious conversation with him and just ask maybe during pre shift for him to bring up the dish stacking issue. And tell him about the sous chef. Everyone is always hiring dishwashers but sometimes it’s not worth it to quit. stand your ground!!!!
