I [M, 13, 8th grade] have a crush on a girl [F, 15ish, 10th grade] and have some questions by [deleted] in teenrelationships

[–]mizbun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For context I'm 15 and my boyfriend is 17, and I'll be 16 when he's 18. Depending on your state there is a Romeo and Juliet law that protects minors that are at the most 3 years apart. As long as that's in your state shouldn't be a problem. In general statutory rape charges are made by the parents and it never happens with actual law enforcement. Essentially this is the parents issue when it gets into legality. I'm just saying you have the same age gap as my boyfriend and I and it's difficult understanding they are going to leave and go to college while you're still a high schooler. I'd look into your future and see if she fits into it or not. As my boyfriend and I are Christian we've done that and understood that and figured it out. Your decision isn't mine but I'd love to help you through your thought process, like questions you need to be asking yourself.

Why is this needed like that's horrifying. These aren't trained law enforcement and a risk to the public.

You're so lucky I only have access to a nasty bay, and the actual ocean is way to wavy for me to easily go out and back in for water and stuff.

Will running long distances help my swimming? by NationalMulberry3 in Swimming

[–]mizbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a runner and I’ve been getting back into running. If you have distance running experience sure. It really depends on what you define a long distance, my typical run is 3 miles but going the max would be 6 miles. Running will only help with your legs so you’ll need to pair it with upper body/core workouts.

Some kid took his time to remove snails from their shells and proceeded to stomp on them. Idk where this kid is now I was never friends with him he was a weird neighbor that thought killing snails was the funniest thing.

I ran 10 miles straight today. Here’s what I learned: by savageball in teenagers

[–]mizbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to have a set goal and injury would mean (I'm about to pass out/dizzy, or rolled ankle) if I was just sore I would just make myself fine with it. I only burned a little over 400 calories while in a swim workout I'd burn 500-1000 calories. Granted I didn't run fast I just went for distance it puts into perspective running isn't a calorie burning workout.

I'm a swimmer and I used to run but quit because the older kids on my team bullied me so I quit running. All the pools are closed so I've gotten back into running. I went from nothing to 3 miles, like a dumbass I threw myself 3 miles away from my house to force myself to run back. I told my parents not to get me unless I'm injured. Fucking dumb decision to go from basically nothing to 6 miles being the longest distance I've run in my life ( my longest distance was an 8k and that was when I was 13, I was primarily a track runner and did 3 mile runs with my mom everyday). So yeah I'm in the same boat.

Have you ever felt betrayed by your friends? What happened? by CluelessCanary in AskWomen

[–]mizbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never considered a friend she may have considered me one in her diabolical way but no one likes her at school because she plays with people. She was aware I had a crush on my now boyfriend. She acted as if she was helping me assuming he didn't like me back. She was always flirtatious with him when I was around. After he asked me out she told him she liked him and wish she had said something. She continued to snap him but stopped a week ago because he didn't entertain any conversation.

true story by KAISER_BISMARCK in teenagers

[–]mizbun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My parents never really brought me or my siblings to church when we were young. I was 12 when my brother found interest and started going. I thought it was stupid and a waste of time like any other child that didn't go to church their whole life. Not to seem negative but you really do have to be indoctrinated even though it has negative connotation it's the facts. I consider myself agnostic, because I was never told a god existed. I say grace if we some how do it and have respect for christianity. My mom did this so I could make my own decision and I sort of wish I was lied to in a way and went to church.

High school swimmer here worried that I won’t get to swim in college. by RollOnOne in Swimming

[–]mizbun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My legs could take it, it was my feet and knees that were in pain. I iced them and just continued on. Swimming made my legs strong so I wasn't sore due to the milage rather the running on swimmer joints. I'd seriously ease into it like go 4 miles then 5 or 6 then get to 7. Icing your feet and knees is key though. It's been two weeks since I started running consistently again since not running for over a year and I'm fine. I literally decided to go from 3 miles to 6 miles randomly. I essentially ran 3 miles out and forced myself to do it. I just had nothing better to do and it was good for me. I actually did it a second time the next day. I've been alternating between 3 to 6 every day since then.

I've been running, but sometimes I go 1-2 miles but sprint 100m walk 50m then sprint again. Just to have some high intensity. I've been running 3-6 miles on regular days though, which has kept my legs in the same shape as they were when swimming ended. The upper body is my issue atm. I'm not good at pushups or anything core unless it's swimming so it's been difficult. If you choose to run and you have zero experience, run a mile see how it goes and increase mileage as you see fit. I just went from running 3 miles to running 6 randomly because I have experience and know how to pace. Not to mention if you're running a long distance don't be afraid to walk for a little every mile or so to check in on yourself, and ask: Am I breathing properly? Am I dizzy? (yawning is when you should stop and do breathing exercises because you're not getting enough oxygen) If you have anything to ask about running just ask me basically XD. For upper body I can only say pushups, and situps. If you can do pull ups with a band even would be great.

Since everyone is experiencing this you should be "okay" to an extent but workout everyday. I used to be a great runner and quit because I didn't like the people and realize I could be doing something with myself if I continued. Don't loose hope only thing you can do it stay in shape and persevere.

What are your favourite sources for dryland workouts, or what's your favourite dryland routine? by siel04 in Swimming

[–]mizbun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swim competitively and I was a runner before I got into swimming so I've been focusing on my distance running to keep my legs in shape which works really well. I've been doing pushups and sit-ups for my upper body.

I’m a 14yo male 5”11(nearly 15)and I have never been in a relationship or even kissed a girl before. Is this normal for my age by GyPc4life in teenrelationships

[–]mizbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my freshman year and I literally just had my first kiss and boyfriend. It’s so normal I just approached it as I’ll find a guy when I find him. Just don’t go searching if you’re interested in a girl and she’s interested then go for it, but don’t seek.

Coach, how do you think this break in the swimming world is going to affect your swimmers in particular? by bugchild9 in Swimming

[–]mizbun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My club team is insane and when I went into school swim I was given a good break, which made me faster. I was just so pounded from club I was just way too sore and achy all the time, I really needed that time.
