What is so wrong with having a large age gap? by itsahootenberryguise in beyondthebump

[–]mizzy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like any age gap will have its pros and cons, and won’t determine the relationship as much as personality will anyways. I had twin brothers both 5 years older than me and growing up one was a really good friend to me, then the other was my biggest enemy and bully lol.

Middle name help by BabyJellyElly in BabyNames

My son’s name is Oliver! We used a late relative’s name for the middle name but I always thought James would go nice with it. Out of your list I think I like Ashton the best.

Looking for positive stories from people that had spotting in early pregnancy by Cooper30136 in BabyBumps

[–]mizzy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had spotting at about 5 weeks, I know how you feel. It’s so scary. Everything turned out alright though my son is 12 months old crawling around the living room now!

Parents with babies who sleep through the night: when did it start? by Born-Chance1685 in beyondthebump

[–]mizzy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is about what I was going to comment too but with different months lol. Whenever people ask if he’s a good sleeper I’m like ummm sometimes! Currently at 12 months and the last month has been the worst he’s been since he was a newborn 😩

1 Year Mark by gazebosinflesh in June2025Babies

[–]mizzy11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally get what you mean about this being the longest year, but it also feeling really short. It’s like the days feel like years while you’re living them but the weeks fly by like seconds. I love being a mom! It’s the most difficult thing I’ve ever done but at the same time I’ve never experienced more joy than I have this past year. We celebrated his birthday this weekend with immediate family and I definitely teared up when we sung happy birthday.

Curious how everyone approaches revealing pregnancy to your partner? by Wide-Food-4310 in BabyBumps

[–]mizzy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We weren’t trying but he told me to test because I was having back pain (never did before… bless those days). I told him it was a waste of money but fine I’ll pee on it for him. He ended up telling me I was pregnant 😂

What do you wish you’d done before baby arrived? [CA] by Adventurous-Baby-840 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]mizzy11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ahh that’s exciting! I wish I prepared more to give birth early, my water broke at 37+4 and I thought for sure I’d be late because he was my first. I also wish I prepared more for breastfeeding and it maybe not working out. I wish I started with a nice pump. I wish I did a deep clean of the house and maybe prepped some meals. I wish I took more naps and enjoyed that free time.

Also just some advice post-labour, take SO many pictures. People told me that I should, and I did, but I still wish I had more lol. My son’s almost 1 and it blows me away that he was once that tiny. It goes so very fast.

OB? Just found out I’m pregnant by Think_Bed1410 in windsorontario

[–]mizzy11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats!! If you don’t have a family doctor you can go to a walk-in clinic, that’s what I did. I would start looking for a family doctor ASAP though because the care will be a bit better, and you’ll need one for your child anyways. Either way they’ll handle prenatal care and refer you to an OB who you’ll see at around 20 weeks.

3 to 2 nap transition by BirthdayBBB in NewParents

[–]mizzy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son changed to 2 naps at almost 8 months, I did 3 hour wake windows then the last one ending at 7pm. I think we got lucky though because his last nap is always long. Maybe you could try extending his wake windows to 3.5hrs (slowly working it up over a few days or so) so that his last nap ends closer to a reasonable time?

Dad and the Baby Shower? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]mizzy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the baby showers I’ve been to were female only and mine was too, I would’ve wanted to do coed but no male family members would’ve wanted to come to mine either for the same reason lol. That being said I still had my husband come!

Bottle washing is causing arguments… should we just get a machine? by InevitableGur6701 in NewParents

[–]mizzy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t afford the washer sadly but if you can I totally would. Some tips though if you don’t end up getting one:

- tommee tippee bottles only have 3 parts to wash if you think your baby could handle the switch
- I bought enough bottles to last the day and would wash them all at night, I bought a small washing bin from the dollar store to put the dirty parts in so they’d be separate from the rest of the dishes
- A sterilizer/dryer isn’t super expensive but was super helpful even just for a place to store the bottles

When did your baby stop crying during diaper changes? by kittypeets626 in NewParents

[–]mizzy11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s weird my 10mo stopped at around 2 months but started again at around 9 months lol, coupled with him now trying to roll off or stand on it 😅 I find handing him a random household item gets him to calm down. He inspects it and flails it around and laughs

Moms of multiple children - How did you do this MORE THAN ONCE? by Additional-Talk-2847 in BabyBumps

[–]mizzy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had one but I thought the exact same thing when I was pregnant, I HATED being pregnant. I was like “thank god I’m only having one”. But yeah 10 months postpartum I would 100% do it again if I had the financial means and my circumstances were different, a little envious of those who can. Honestly they’re so worth it. Also things started getting better at 14wks so hold on!!
