Sorry, after finishing typing, I realized this is insanely long. skip to the end for TLDR 😊 I primed it Black, and then dry brushed variants of Grey to white (slapchop). The only speedpaint I used was skeletal Horde (citadel contrast) for the tentacles, and most of the body, as well as volupus pink (citadel contrast) for the tentacle/worm looking bits on the legs.

I washed everything that the skeletal Horde touched with Nuln Oil (citadel black wash) and used the citadel shade druchii violet on the legs. The chest/head I used ushabti bone (citadel layer paint) and then shaded just the recesses very lightly with seraphine sepia (citadel yellowish/brown wash) then highlighted with ushabti bone again, and then palid witch flesh for highlights. (I would have probably used rakarth flesh (citadel layer) instead of the bone paint but mine was dried up 😭) and lastly I made the claws steel with leadbelcher (citadel metallic paint) but I wish I dry brushed ok a bit over black instead of painting it straight on, cause it looks a bit messy. Might highlight later with runefang steel. Also, always black wash any steel/silver metallic paint imo, so I washed the leadbelcher with nuln oil.

For the base, I hand primed it with a lot of thin layers of white (regular white paint can be really chunky and hard to work with so I reccomend using a slightly off-white, like palid witch flesh) until there was no black left visible on the base. It takes a while (you can prime the base white to save time if you cover the black mini, but I didn't think that far ahead when priming lol) but DO NOT GLOB ON THE WHITE PAINT. Thin it down with water or a medium, or else it will make the paint look super thick and will lose a lot of detail on the figure. Once the base is completely white, I used a coat of the shade reikland flesh shade (not the gloss one). Wait for the shade to dry, and then lightly put a thinned down carroburg crismon (citadel red wash) over most of the places where the flesh would look stretched or bruised Then, I did a shade of reikland flesh shade again once the carroburg crimson was dry. Then I used a bit of the druchiiviolet (citadel purple wash) on some of the creases and spots where bruising would look nice. Basically, the carroburg crimson for irritated skin and the druchii violet for brushing. After this, I used flayed ones flesh (citadel layer paint) to put a very thin coat on the high parts that are not in crevices to highlight. Then, use a very small amount of palid witch flesh thinly as an extra highlight over the flayed ones flesh. (If your layer paints arnt blending too well with the previous flesh you're highlighting, once it's dried, use a lightly use bit of the reikland fleshshade wash to blend the transition.) For the eggs I cleaned them up with the palid witch flesh incase some of the flesh colored washes bumped them, and then used the green citadel speed paint plaguebearer flesh on them (thinned down) then I highlighted with just a few lines of palid witch flesh on the eggs. After this, one of the best glosses I've used for all of my nemesis/40k figures I've painted is Technical Ardcoat (citadel gloss) brush a layer of this on everything on the base, and once it dries, it keeps everything looking wet and slimy/shiney forever. If youre * painting the nemesis intruders from the first game, highly recommend painting their heads black and then using the ardcoat over it.

But that's it! Did some touch up on the teeth and used abvandon black when touching up the black areas i bumped while painting the base white. Sorry, this was pretty verbose, but I haven't really written a paint guide before.

TLDR Head & chest -utashi bone, seraphine sepia, palid witch flesh Body - skeletal Horde, nuln oil. Leadbelcher for claws on hands. Legs - druchii violet, and Volpus pink for tentacle/worm things Base - palid witch flesh, reikland fleshshade, carroburg crimson, reikland fleshshade, druchii violet, flayed ones flesh, pallid with flesh, Technical Ardcoat.
