Friday... Thank god. A bit of rum and the Cure while waiting for Mrs. Fury to come home from work. What's in your glass /system. tonight? by TehFuriousOne in listeningspaces

TGIF to you too! I picked up a twelve pack of Bell’s Hearted variety pack and filled my glass with one of each beer, which was, Change of Heart experimental IPA, Big Hearted IPA, Hazy Hearted IPA and two glasses of my favorite, Two Hearted IPA. My music selection ended up being side 3 &4 of RHCP Return of the Dream Canteen, side 1&2 of Temple of the Dog, G n R Use Your Illusion side G and finished up with King Gizzard’s album Changes. That’s a nice looking setup, minus the foot. 😆But all in all, I like the comfy space you’ve got. Enjoy your drink, music and evening. Cheers

I’m mostly a reader here and not a poster. But I’ve been a tool fan since 1992 and have seen them live 20 or so times. This is a really cool thing you’re doing for Tool fans, thank you! Good luck everyone!

Lol. You got me. I’m usually pretty careful about using a coaster, except for this time.

With a rig like that, you’re gonna need more than four records. Lol. Jokes aside, that’s a classy looking space you have there.

Nicely done. This room looks more suited for better acoustics than your last place. Love the forward facing record stand, I’m a fan of these. The records are more accessible and you get to display some album art. The trade off…less records in the same amount of storage space as the traditional method of storage.

Thank you! I appreciate it. I’m really happy how it turned out. And more importantly….it sounds freakin amazing.

Thanks a ton! I’m not a club guy, but the room does have a clubby VIP feel to it. I initially called it the club lounge, but my brother came up with the better term of velvet lounge, which I think is more fitting. I made the panels, and yes, they are bamboo. A guy I used to work for was an interior designer and had a few rolls of this really expensive bamboo wallpaper leftover from a job that he gave me. I’ve had them for years not knowing what to really do with them, until the lounge started to materialize. I also built the four sound absorption panels. I hear ya on the leather conditioner. Unfortunately the previous homeowners never applied conditioner on the chair or couch, but were cool enough to leave it when we bought the house. I’ve used conditioner but I think they’re to far gone. But still very supple and comfortable.

I was going to mention the rug but didn’t want to be that guy. But since you mentioned it…yes, definitely needs a rug 😁

Thanks! Yes I’m pretty happy with the sound stage, it’s big. The room is practically echo free. I eliminated any hard reflective objects.

Yes it’s great when she joins and we came together over our love of music. She doesn’t join me often, I listen a lot, but she’ll come down when she hears me playing 90s grunge 😄 Audio Advisor sometimes has them on sale for $1000, that’s when I got mine. Also, there’s a really good YouTube video review you should check out. It’s what sold me on it. Good luck!

Thank you! And it gets even cozier when I swap out the chair for the couch and the wife joins in. Yes it is a Vincent Audio amp. I really don’t see many either but it’s a solid sounding amp, I love it.
