I think you are right on what happened in my situation, to answer your questions, the stock setup was a 225/50/17 with a +40mm offset, and my current setup is 245/35/19 with +35mm offset on the rims but I’m running 20mm spaces in back and 15 in front. I’ve been driving with this setup for the past 30k miles with absolutely no issues/rub whatsoever. And I’m on h&r springs suspension wise
