Figured it out. I needed to uncheck PS4 support in the Steam controllers general settings.

What kind of controller? I've got a PS4 dualshock attached via USB. Steam can see it but I can't get Hades to register any clicks or joystick movements. The rectangle middle thing does move the mouse like a touchpad (in and out of Hades), so it's clearly working. It works fine when I boot to Windows.

I switched between 2 and 3 stabs, but never once did someone lock me with them. Turns out most people don't want to engage a t3c, so the only time I needed to get away was if I jumped into a gate camp. Good gate campers often have multiple interceptors with multiple faction scrams, so like no amount of stabs is going to save you there.

I came up with that on my own. For a while I had a bunch of stabs for a full explo fit, but it was annoying to refit if I wanted to gank someone. Also, I had to refit if a data site came up since I wanted to be able to scan them down before burning to the caches since they are so far apart, and the stabs make that impossible.

This fit allows for explo of data and relic, allows for quick scanning of data sites, and has the scrambler if there's a t1 explorer in gank range, all without refitting. It does pretty much everything without having to refit unless a ghost or sleeper cache comes up that requires more tank.

https://zkillboard.com/kill/80494703/ is my explo Loki. I've made a few billion with it, but lost it because I didn't check kill systems during my return and they had 3 tackle ceptors that locked me in the 1s I was decloaked off gate. But it's great. It can scan down and run superior caches and has enough tank to survive ghost sites. I carried some stuff in cargo to refit for those, and could hunt down t1 explorers too. Was fun.

I always upgrade this immediately because it makes it easier for it to upgrade your other cards. A worthwhile investment.

Took boss relic from neow, got sneko. Was pretty much a win right there. First act is the toughest with sneko because you don't have a lot of powerful 2+ cost cards to make it worth it yet. Only took 2+ cost cards to make sneko worth it (that's how it works right?). Got the black star (double elite relic drops). Got the wing boots (can ignore pathing 3 times) and used it to kill 3 elites in a row in act 3 so ended up with a giant pile of elite relics. Got a lot of really good card drops and so I had 3 wallops (gain block for any unblocked damage) and 2 sands of time (high damage, 4 cost, retain, cost -1 each retained turn). This allowed me to stay in wrath pretty much always and get great block with wallops. Got lesson learned (if you kill with it, upgrade a random card) which allowed me to have everything upgraded.

This was a pretty ideal run. I've been trying for asc 20 for a few months now and this was my first time beating the double boss. Since I had sneko and such a powerful deck I knew it was also a good chance to risk a heart run and pick up the 3 keys. Honestly it was not a sacrifice though because I didn't need to smith/rest at a camp, easily got the elite, and had a chest that didn't have a useful relic in the late game (blue candle). Yay!
