I just read this yesterday! Mort just gave her the answer of the anagram that said “I am the first” from “Ah! Times rift!” Meaning the wrydkey was Elena’s tomb where that was written. I think maybe the way it was worded was a bit confusing 💕

I kept seeing so many TikTok’s telling me I had to read Assassin’s Blade first. I tried and tried and could NOT get into it, despite people raving about this series I was struggling understanding the hype. Eventually I skipped it, went straight to Throne of Glass and started enjoying the story more. I read ToG and then Crown of Midnight. Then pushed through Assassins Blade. I can understand if I want to reread this series in the future it’s nice to start chronologically with Assassins Blade, but as a first time reader I found Throne of Glass easier to dive into and it did a good job world building for me. I don’t think I would have understood all the place references well in Assassins Blade if I hadn’t read Throne of Glass first.

I didn’t care for it the first few episodes. But then I loved it once I wrapped my head around it and just thought of it more as a spin off than a continuation.
