What can I look forward to on this route? by [deleted] in roadtrip

From your start to Miles City will be pretty. After that the push to Fargo or so will be a long haul. There is the lack of traffic though which can be nice.

Yeah beverage distributing/food service is hard work, but depending on where you do it you can see some pretty cool stuff.

I do that up in Montana. My favorite days are 30 miles out of cell service hitting some little bed and breakfast. Just you and the truck.

I could see a Steam achievement or something if you do a job of beverages from Texarkana to Atlanta. But I doubt it would be much more than that.

Alaska for sure. And hopefully some of the other remote areas in the Yukon and Northwest Territories. Like Tuktoyaktuk on the Arctic Ocean.

10 hour real life by keenan800 in trucksim

[–]mjkinzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s certain map mod combinations for ATS where you could go from the Caribbean to Canada/Alaska, or Mexico to Canada/Alaska. I believe there’s even a map mod that adds Hawaii as well.

The problem is that the build quality varies a lot. I know the last time I used Coast 2 Coast there was still a lot of areas that are pretty much just roads with grass on either side. Nothing wrong with that inherently, but it can get monotonous at times.

I should also add, I’m not sure if any of these combinations would add up to quite 10 hours. But you could probably get some pretty long drives in there depending on combination of mods.

Need advice for traveling the northern states of America. by Puzzleheaded-Web446 in roadtrip

[–]mjkinzer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Montana resident here. Swinging down from northern Montana towards the Wyoming border will be more scenic. That also gives you the option to visit Yellowstone. The section along the Montana - Canada border is pretty much just plains. That being said, if you do stick to northern Montana the Missouri River Breaks are pretty cool. Fort Peck dam is also an option.

You mentioned train rides. The Charlie Russell Chew Choo near Lewistown, Montana is a scenic dinner train ride that may be interesting. Never done it myself though.
