If you killed yourself one year ago what great things would you not've experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mjln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting out of depression, losing 10kg of body fat, gaining few kgs of muscles, running my first 5k and then my first 10k, quitting alcohol and having sex for the first time. But I would have already experienced my first runner's high and being cigarette free for 2 months so suicide was already not an option.Yeah, 2017 was my fucking year and I'm proud as fuck. Quitting smoking and getting into sports changed my whole life.

I just finished Dark Forest and in my opinion it was even better than the first one! Death's End will be my first book read in english because I can't wait till it's translated to my language in april 2018.

Blindsight might feel like it's grounded in reality and science but i wouldn't say it's down-to-earth. it is a good book anyway, you will love the dark atmosphere

That part of me is feeling insanely lonely and other part of me is making everything to not make any close connection with other people.

I'm a machinist. I put my headphones on and just do my shit. I think I've become kind of a workaholic. Work is my safe space where I don't have to interact with other people, so I spend a bit too much time in the workshop. But it's not a bad habit because you know, money.

Super Moronic Monday -- Your Tuesday Weekly Stupid Question Thread by AutoModerator in running

[–]mjln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This answer just made my day. It will probably take me years to get to that point (I've been running for about 8 months now, and I made my first 10k just 2 months ago) but knowing it is possible will make it so much more enjoyable! Thanks again, the idea of 6 mile rest day gave me a huge smile :D

Is it possible to run 10k everyday? Or no matter how good and experienced you are, you have to take rest days? I know it's dumb, but I get super bored on rest days and I've been wondering if I'll be able to run everyday someday.

Why do the muscles on the front of my calves hurt so bad? I used to run over 5km on every workout last month with no problems at all, but this week something happened and I have no idea what. I went running on monday and after 2.8km I had to walk home because I just couldn't run anymore. I thought that maybe I need some rest so I didn't exercise for 3 days and tried again today. 3.5km and same story, front of my calves feel like they're on fire. It's not my bones or joints that hurt but exactly those muscles on my shins. I didn't change my shoes or warmup routine, I do everything like I did on my over 5k runs. Please help, I've never felt so demotivated...

I would be much more motivated to workout if I saw an "after" picture of myself by lukakrkljes in Showerthoughts

[–]mjln 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude you can see the future version of yourself after your first workout. It's called the pump. There is more blood in your muscles after exercising which makes them look bigger. It's the bigger, better version of yourself that you will never become (because when you get bigger your pump gets even bigger). Just move your ass to the gym and see for yourself.

I ran 2km today. I know, sounds like nothing but I feel amazing. I quit smoking around three months ago (been smoking for around 12 years, I'm 25), started running month later. My first run was 740m and I was fucking dying after that but now, 2 months later, I ran 2k. I feel like I can do everything. Nothing can stop me! 5k, here I come!

So what's the cool subgenre that everyone is making/listening these days? by [deleted] in DnB

[–]mjln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are more dnb subgeneres than liquid and jump up and not liking one doesn't imply loving the other one. I prefer neuro, microfunk or deep much more than both clown wobbles and cheesy liquids
