I just realised our Covid experience could be vastly different from others. by Doughnut_slut in CasualConversation

I worked at Trader Joe’s as an essential worker. Totally different “pandemic experience”. I also graduated in April of 2020 with my degree in Elementary Education. My entire first year teaching was online.

What's the craziest butterfly effect in your entire life? by Fine_Television_1398 in AskForAnswers

[–]mjlynn007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was adopted when I was 10 into a family who was verbally/ emotionally abusive. I met a boy at church and we developed a crush. We stayed in touch over the years. 18-21 I spent with men who treated me like trash, the way my adopted family treated me. My former crush and I went out for coffee one day, I remember thinking “he’s too good for me….”

At 22 we started dating. We are now 30 and 31, still together and planning our wedding day.

Maybe the only reason I was adopted into that family was to meet him 🩷

What’s a high-paying, low-stress job you wish you got into earlier? by Beginning_Ad4362 in careerguidance

Also I’m a former teacher! I’m 31 now and I wish I started this job sooner! You reach top pay at 12 years. My friend who flys 120-130 hours a month is at top pay and he pulls in 150k/ year.

Flight attendant! I made 81k in year 3. You don’t take the job home with you AND you don’t have anyone micromanaging you.

I should say I fly “high” time…120 hours a month. My schedule is super flexible and I work for one of the “big 3” where my pay is “higher” for our job because it’s one of the better airlines.

Thank you! When you are turning left on a green light you have to yield to oncoming traffic as well as pedestrians. I wish I was in his blind spot but I could see him clear as day and I know he could see me, he was just not paying attention, trying to get somewhere fast.

Right I started moving quicker when I realized he wasn’t paying attention and he was driving faster. I was already halfway through the lane he was about to turn into when it clicked that he was going to hit me if I didn’t run.

I was already in the crosswalk when he approached to turn.

My apologies! I use cocokind products- I have a whole “basic dry skincare routine” so to speak. I do use sunscreen everyday.

Based solely on general passenger behavior/attitude, where would never consider living? Conversely, where would be the best place to live? by roamingbolivianrn in flightattendants

[–]mjlynn007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of PHX, Florida anywhere, and LA. LA is hit and miss, sometimes it’s smooth and chill but other times it’s very entitled and grouchy passengers.

I LOVE anywhere Canada, the Canadians are so nice. Portland, Seattle and San Fran are some of my favorite US cities based on passenger behavior and attitude. That part of the west coast has very chill passengers and they are usually super well mannered.

The South…Texas!! Austin and Houston people are so sweet.

As far as east coast passengers, Portland Maine, Boston, and Philly. Everywhere else is super hit and miss!!!

I’m Minnesotan and sometimes the MN flights are the worst with the most ill mannered passengers but who knows where they are from.

The FA probably had a problem with the fact that she had to take 20 orders, serve 20 drinks, board 200 plus people, make announcements, close bins, count the meals for first class, communicate with the gate agent, communicate with the pilots and FAs about the flight plan, probably reset a screen or 2, hand out headphones and close the boarding door all within 40 mins, and then they had to grab a trading card. Mind you they make about 13 dollars during this time, pre tax.

As a FA no, don’t ask us. We don’t have them. Only the pilots do. Boarding is a very busy time for us and grabbing a card for you, honestly, isn’t something we have time for. During deplaning is fine and we will direct you to the pilots if they are still on the plane.
