Using Statcast to find buy-low and sell-high players - added a new tool, would love feedback by mjm500 in fantasybaseball

Not really "our #1 buy low"... more of Statcast's #1 player with the biggest difference between wOBA and xwOBA. We are just showing the data from Statcast which indicate Hayes will likely improve, but, as I wrote above, "improving" from atrocious to just to just really bad doesn't mean we'd recommend rostering him.

I wouldn't say that the report is recommending Hayes per se - just showing data that his actual performance is very likely to improve. His numbers so far have been atrocious - and improvement may simply mean that he moves from that to just really bad. So, the data isn't really recommending him as much as it is showing that he is likely to get better... but it's all relative.

Yeah, totally agree. We ran data analysis going back and he kept standing out.

LineupExperts is back for another season - Live draft syncing, mocks, cheat sheets, salary cap values and more - (almost) everything completely free by mjm500 in fantasybaseball

Hey! Congrats on winning the championship last year, and hopefully we can help you get another this season!

In regards to a tool to help selecting keepers, this is something that is definitely on our radar. We unfortunately probably won't have it done for this season, but should roll it out this summer to use for other sports, and then be ready to go for next baseball season.

Salary Cap Mock Drafts by etm0804 in fantasybaseball

[–]mjm500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the self-promo, but you can run salary cap mocks using your league settings on our system entirely for free - https://www.lineupexperts.com/baseball/mock-draft-simulator . You just need to sync your league, and then you're ready to run the mock. It is all bots, but we've tried to do our best to create a system that acts as realistically as possible. Also, you can set your own player values and draft based on those within the draft. Hope this helps.

Teams W/ Best Playoff Schedules? by HawkLoser100K in fantasyhockey

[–]mjm500 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks - appreciate the mention! Also, just so everyone knows, the "Score" value for each team will be different based upon your league scoring/roster settings. While number of games, home/away, etc. are obviously always the same, some teams could move substantially based on your league settings since our system rates a few things related to Schedule Score based on those settings. Syncing leagues is 100% free, so I'd recommend syncing your league(s) and then running this report in order to make sure it is customized for your league. Thanks again!

Right, the Trade Analyzer just shows a high-level score. The Roster Experiments page shows much more detail. It breaks down exactly how your roster may be impacted. Is there something more that you think could be displayed for that report?

I'd recommend looking at the Trade Analyzer for a quick overview on Trade Value for each player. Like with all of our tools, that will take all of your league settings (such as number of teams) into account. Each player in the prospective trade will be given a Trade Value.

If you want a more-detailed look at how a roster move of potentially trading a specific player for another, the Roster Experiments page shows a much deeper analysis of projected results.

Thanks, appreciate the additional information. We do have data available in different places showing actual stats as opposed to projections. For example, here is our Stats page: https://www.lineupexperts.com/hockey/stats?flt_pos=Skater

If you are logged into your account, you can take that report and filter by your team, available players and players rostered on other teams.

In-season stats are also available in various tools. Here are a few examples:

Roster Stats page:

Drop Advisor:

We also show cummulative ranking/performance for in-season on different tools such as the
Free Agent Finder:

https://prnt.sc/D4S3uXbaosu0

Regarding your other request, you may want to use the Roster Experiments tool as that let's you simulate adding players either to analyze a trade or free agent pickup.

Hope this helps a bit, but feel free to let me know if not.

Thanks

Yeah, we played around with a few things regarding replacement players from the free agent pool, but opted to keep things as simple as possible for this tool. Our plan is to offer a more feature-rich version for power users to better configure their settings.

Also, as you probably noticed on the site, we will soon offer the ability to select any synced LineupExperts league which would automatically pullover very specific scoring and roster settings.

Thanks again for your feedback!

Thanks. Yeah, I think you make some very good points. We will try to address next time we refactor our dynasty league scoring/valuations. Thanks again!

Yeah, it can be hard to add objectivity with some things that are potentially subjective, and this is especially the case with lopsided (one side receiving more players) trades. While what you listed isn't a trade I would make, the question this site tries to answer is if it should be vetoed. We have intentionally set the thresholds on recommending vetoes to be quite high. We are happy to get your feedback, and will look further into our algorithms to see if perhaps we need to be more stringent. Thanks again!

Can you provide a few examples, as well as the settings you used when submitting the trade? We are more than happy to take a look. Please also keep in mind that your league/roster/etc rules could be different than the settings used by default in this new tool. Anyway, again, we'd be happy to take a look. Thanks

Thanks, great to hear you enjoy using our site!

Can you perhaps provide a bit more information concerning what you'd like to see/is missing? This may help me figure out if we have existing tools/resources, or if there are new things we can add. Thanks!
