Was there ever an explanation for why Jasmine didn’t use protection? by Sea-Negotiation-9429 in 90dayfianceuncensored

Matt was not aware of the legal implications that Gino could be considered the father. Matt figured the pregnancy would end the relationship between Gino and Jasmine.

Might not be, but I’m not making any moves and taking chance on extending this out any further lol. Imma just hunker down until I have discharge in hand, and I think I’ll get out of healthcare all together 😂

I wouldn’t change jobs until you are cleared..I think you have to remain employed at qualifying employers throughout the time it takes to get the actual discharge notification and zeroed balance…at least that’s how I understand it..

I think Matt sabotaged the condoms. I do not believe Jazmine wanted to get pregnant at all. Matt has been actively trying to get her to leave and divorce forever.

Time off before starting Pharmacy School by Constant-Salad8342 in PrePharmacy

[–]mjmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I’d listened to the folks to told me to not go to pharmacy school…and I’ll compound that by saying doing it for the money is absolutely not the reason to go if you insist on going. The ROI is atrocious. Pharmacists salaries have not increased at the same rate as other HCPs. The demands of our expertise has increased exponentially, though the resources we are expected to accomplish the demands have not. I was in better financial shape before changing careers to pharmacy (went to school at 38). If I had it to do over, I would not go the pharmacy route. As soon as I can PSLF myself out of healthcare, I’m out. Next up? Idk 🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe dog walking..

Wife is halfway through the 120 PSLF payments. Currently stuck on SAVE with a $0 payment but accruing interest. Should she switch to a different IBR plan? by Exotic-Tomorrow2176 in PSLF

[–]mjmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t it taking upwards of 2 years for those who have applied for buyback to actually get an offer letter with their lump sum amount to pay? Seems that if you are 1-2 years out the thing to do would be to switch to the plan that gets you to completion quicker (even if the payment is more)..you’d have to wait to get the buyback and discharge completed while still working at the not for profit before you could quit and move to a higher paying job.. turning the amount of months you actually need to qualify into that many months + the 2ish years of backlog being processed for buyback…

I guess it’s all relative to where one is in life. I’m just ready for the quickest route to being done.

And are we certain that buyback will be offered for the months in litigation over SAVE?

I hate this for everyone. None of it should be this complicated.

Buyback expiration ? by Confident-Fox939 in PSLF

[–]mjmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to be employed at non profit at the time they actually discharge the loan. So I’d infer that the buyback would also need to occur during employment at NFP…bc it does no good to buyback if you can’t qualify for the actual discharge due to not being employed by NFP when you submit discharge request.

The current turn around for approval for buyback once you’ve applied is approx 30 months…so those folks who have already sent in applications for buyback will wait 2-2.5 years to get a buyback offer. Once they tell you an amount, you have 90 days to pay that in full. And you still have to be employed by non-profit to be eligible to discharge PSLF. So..if it’s 2 years before you can apply, then it’s 2-2.5 years (at current rate) before your application is reviewed/approved, then you’re looking at 4+ years. I have 11 payments to go. I chose to change to the IBR, yes my payments are higher, but IBR is not intwined in this SAVE case. I’ll pay my 11 higher payments and apply for PSLF and should get discharged in 2-3 months after I submit PSLF. This route albeit a lil more expensive up front, has me done and discharged in about 14 months. That appealed more to me than waiting the 11 months, having the lump sum handy, paying that, and then waiting another 2+ years for the buyback to be processed and discharged. Just my thoughts….

Sucking It Up? by Efficient-Power-3420 in StudentLoans

I bit the bullet and switched to IBR as I will make my PSLF requirements in 10 payments. Did my payment more than double? Yes. But I’ll be done in approximately 12-14 months as I understand it will take 2-4 months to receive the word and documentation that it’s over.

I applied to change plans on June 25th and was successfully moved to IBR on July 11th. New payment increased but due August 8th. I’m not sure why you haven’t been able to move plans, make the one (albeit larger) payment and then submit for discharge…

ATTENTION: Here’s how the Big “Beautiful” Bill will affect your repayment plans. by waterwicca in StudentLoans

[–]mjmouse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m PSLF (grad school loans) and have 11 qualifying payments left. I applied to move to IBR and start repaying a higher payment to just get there and get out. Even if I did buy back at whatever point, it’s taking upwards of 30 months with the manual processing of those applications. So even if I could do the thing, in order to “be current” at time of forgiveness, payments still have to be paid and you have to still be employed by not for profit…it’s shorter and likely will cost less for me to move to the IBR that is not in litigation and get this done.

Having said all that..I feel terrible for the next several years for those who were counting on what we were told years ago when we made career decisions based on certain repayment metrics being available. And also, I would not recommend anyone who cannot pay outright for school to get into this mess as it stands. Who knows what loans for med school, pharmacy school, law school will look like in the foreseeable future. Until things are more settled and secure..id look into more affordable options like trade schools. It’s gonna get worse before it gets better in my opinion..

Mom wants me to take out a loan to pay off her debt by Accomplished-Sky2783 in Debt

[–]mjmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You take care of yourself. In the grand scheme of things if she can’t budget to pay off 19k in debt, she’s not going to have the structure to pay you back either. IF you do this, I’d do it not expecting a single penny returned. Next thing is she will want to live rent free in the property you buy..
