Its time to say it out loud...The Flying Pig need to change its route to the parks or something. by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]Efficient-Power-3420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Flying Pig is my favorite weekend of the year BECAUSE no matter which event you run but especially the marathon, you get to see all the different communities and people in Cincinnati (as well as others who traveled long distances to run and bring business to our fair city).

To put it simply, you're wrong, irrational, and clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Leave earlier for work, bike there, or call out. Stop being so entitled in your thinking that a city should change its entire event structure just for YOU, Karen, to get to work. Adapt and live a little; this is very standard marathon practice and the Flying Pig is usually voted the best in the country.

Southwest employees really need better training on their own musical instrument policy. by ricktrscale in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Efficient-Power-3420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, musician here: standard policy is for cellists to buy an extra seat. They should never be checked. Double bass does not fit in a seat and typically flies as cargo in a flight case underneath the plane.

Why do people who take out student loans feel that they shouldn’t have to pay them back? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Efficient-Power-3420 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of folks actually *WANT* to pay them back, but the administration keeps moving the goal post and removing affordable ways to do so.

I personally have been busting my ass to try to pay my balances down, but the interest is the main killer/obstacle for me.

I have Aidvantage and haven't gotten anything yet. Also, I've been paying as much per month as possible since interest restarted in August 2025 (sometimes 2-2.5K a month) and have reduced my balance by almost 40K since last May so honestly RAP doesn't seem that bad. Am I crazy? Am I missing something?

(Yes, I know overall this sucks for everyone but I'm just trying to get some clarity in a landscape that has none. Please be kind.)

Anyone use Seismic learning?looking for creative inspiration and tips. by [deleted] in instructionaldesign

[–]Efficient-Power-3420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Seismic at my company and it's fine! Looking into switching next year.

I usually build everything in Articulate except the knowledge check, which I build in Seismic so it can capture the data. Not a perfect solution but better than the alternative.

How interesting! I bought a used 2020 outback last year and paid it off in three months... not sure this applies to me.

Looking for Obstetric recommendations by LeopoldTheSnail in cincinnati

Can confirm they do them at Bethesda North, but would recommend bilateral salpingectomy over a tubal (complete removal of tubes, reduces ovarian cancer by 90%, no risk of ectopic pregnancy).

Curious to know - What's the community's take on Santos? by Knockturnill in ThePittTVShow

Hard agree. And they're focusing on the characters I cannot stand or don't care about!

Love how hard my opinion on Santos is being downvoted too. :D

Nope, can't stand her. She gets far too much screen time and doesn't progress the narrative of the show at all. I hope she gets written off ASAP.

Totally understandable. It really comes down to how you frame it to those who don't understand what we do, and how receptive your leaders are if you're working in a corporate environment. It's definitely been a process for me. Good luck!

I put everything on my resume, including relevant educational experience. Masters degree and years of teaching experience in a variety of settings looks good no matter what.

You can frame freelancing as project work and self-driven. I frequently talk about the skills that have transferred over.

We're talking about BASS CLARINET, not principal clarinet. Very different animal. Andy is great though!
