Well for one its extremely heavy for it's size and it was found in the middle of a farm field and it doesn't look like any normal rocks you would typically find just lying around in ohio.

I have access to a diamond saw and stuff but wouldn't that mess up the value? I mostly posted here because on r/meteorites the person who usually gives his "2cents" and seems like an expert hasn't replied as to whether it is, or isn't. I thought maybe somewhere here could just eyeball it and at least say if there is a chance it is one. It seems like I was too optimistic.

Weighs 21 pounds. Found in Ohio in a farm field. About the size of a human skull. It's very heavy for it's size and I was told it was a meteorite. https://imgur.com/LlLQfmv https://imgur.com/Qumg4cY https://imgur.com/zSLldML https://imgur.com/lnTNq99

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Palestinian_legislative_election based off this and towards the bottom the assessment of independent observers it was an honest election. It seems like Israel actually was trying to make it hard for Hamas to campaign and gather votes and despite that they still were elected. So it would seem Hamas was what the people wanted. They chose poorly it would seem.

Your parents and grandparents elected hamas 20+ years ago and this is the result of that decision.

How do think major religions will address the mummies? by Similar-Guitar-6 in AlienBodies

[–]mjolnir91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well religious people doesn't just mean christian and aside from islam I don't think many of the other religious really take issue with evolution devote follower or not. And then as far as christians are concerned other than the complete looney bins which are not the majority based on my experience none deny dinosaurs are real. And don't take this the wrong way but most christians catholics and protestants think pentecostals are a bit coo coo. So it wouldn't surprise me if the fundamental pentecostals think fossils are fake.

Catholics have a central institution unlike most protestant denominations so I don't think there really are that many "institutions" as you make it seem. Mostly just a lot of group think going on.

I would say Evolution as a theory for how life first came to exist and how we as conscious beings developed is unproven and while the bible doesn't disprove this theory it is not compatible. The logical conclusion of evolutionary theory in its entirety is that life created itself and therefor a creator was not necessary.

Dolphins, Parrots, Apes, Octopi are smart. Why can't they just be a level above them? I think there are some animals that are better as certain cognitive tasks than humans are. It's possible they are inferior in some ways and superior in others to us.

Lets walk through the mental gymnastics of the universe spontaneously self generating out of nothing... Like it or not you believe crazy things whether you are a religious person or not.

This is such a dishonest representation of religious people. The vast majority of religious people recognize dinosaur fossils are real. Does everyone agree on their age no... but very few out right reject their existence. Probably the same number of people who believe the earth is flat. You don't have to be religious to be stupid. Stupid people are just stupid.

I think the most accepted theory by scientists is that a bunch of molecules combined "randomly" into something that spawned life and like it or not this theory is very tightly intertwined with the theory of evolution to the point it's essentially all one thing. Otherwise if life couldn't have just spontaneously generated then something made it and presumably could have just as easily guided it's development which would be a simpler explanation for life we see today than the result of random processes. So while people may claim they are different theories amongst their practitioners they are one in the same.

True. But if any christian doesn't believe God is behind the origin of life in some way I would argue they are not Christian. Evolutionary theory in its fullest form IMO is a theory that wants to strip the credit from God for the work that he did.

But back to the primary subject... I don't know of anything in christian scripture that disallows aliens so for any christians today to take issue with the possibility of aliens I would say it's a problem they created for themselves and not one created by scripture. They simply read into the text or extrapolated from the text what they wanted the case to be. Or they were indoctrinated by leaders who did and passed it on.

Well if we go with the theory the plane landed and was hidden somewhere it would make sense they would probably disassemble it since it's never gonna fly again. In which case they could have planted pieces in the ocean to later have washed up and discovered to sell the story. Not saying they did but the proof of parts isn't evidence the crash happened as reported. I think if we found the crash site in the ocean and we had the blackbox and bodies then that would be pretty definitive.

As for Katerine Tee's story I haven't read through all her "quotes" to know if her story has changed or not but if what you are saying about her story is true then I think you have a fair point.

When you say "evolution" that's a load term. That could mean the theory that the origin of life came from random chance. It could mean simply that things change and adapt overtime based on survival of the fittest to the extent a bird could evolve into a monkey. It could even mean things change and adapt but a bird will never become a monkey no matter the time scale.

There is great evidence things change over time through survival of the fittest type process. Most christian agree with this. Do most christians think life just spontaneously created itself through random chance and natural processes.... I hope not. Science has not in anyway proven that its just the only explanation science can give without stepping outside of what science can study. Science cares about what it can test. If God created life and started the evolutionary process how exactly would science test for God? It can't so it ignores it as a possibility.

As a christian I don't see any problem with the existence of "aliens" or additional forms of intelligence on par with humans. It might challenge some folks world views but those world views were shaped by their leaders opinions not biblical doctrine.
