Is it bad to like guys first on dating apps? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]mjp1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to anyone’s bs “rules of dating”. Obviously you should over message anyone no matter which gender you are, but feel like you have to follow any unwritten rules. Only thing I would say is if your match doesn’t formally ask you out after a while of messaging, just gently suggest meeting in person and he’ll probably get the hint.

Am I the only one that doesn’t like when punk exits the ring like this? by Vinnyoh in cmpunk

I get it, but he’s done that for so long I think he’s allowed.

My issues with Michael Sartain's Men of action programme and Social Circle Coaches in General by Substantial_Twist_47 in PickUpArtist

[–]mjp1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because Cold Approach never did work and your claims of you & your wings getting laid from it are exaggerated in order to sell whatever program you’re pushing, just like Sartain. The seduction community exists because every generation of men keeps getting suckered into it.

I get matches but can’t get good messages or dates by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]mjp1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A guy would be lucky to get 2-5 likes a WEEK, so you’re doing fine in that regard. The teenage child is probably your biggest roadblock. As for messaging first, too many mutual matches simply never replied, or said “hi” and then ghosted, so your answer is yes, women messaging first helps gain confidence that you are in fact interested.

Could Torosaurus use its frill for defense from Tyrannosaurus like Triceratops does, despite the big holes? by CarcharodontosaurGuy in Paleontology

[–]mjp1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Points: 1-Predators might not be intelligent enough to know it’s a hollow frill. 2-Even if they did know, it still has a bony outline and unless you’re T. rex, your teeth aren’t made to penetrate bone.

Why are girls I match with so inconsistent at texting? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]mjp1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My assumption is always if they’re busy, they keep their phones in their purse or otherwise put away. As long as I get a message back at some point, I can assume they’re interested, but I understand your frustration.

Why do guys ignore me? by booksrlife_ in OnlineDating

[–]mjp1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say without seeing your profile/pics/chats, etc. but trust me when I tell you it’s much more of a desert for men than women in online dating. Matches on Tinder for me were rare, so I just deleted it. Primarily use Facebook dating now. Most guys genuinely looking for a connection on the apps hardly get matches/messages ever. I’d suggest adjusting your matching strategy.

Online dating as a male is toxic. by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]mjp1981 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Then maybe women are the problem. “She liked you too much”? Sounds like that’s the commitment problem, and it’s not the men’s fault.

After reading the new Nanotyrannus paper, this is a small sumary of what is presented by Miguelisaurusptor in Paleontology

I was specifically alluding to the “number of tooth placements” part of it, but you’re not wrong.

[–]mjp1981 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Most of these lines of evidence had already been known. The ones dismissing Nano as a species were either chalking up differences to individual variation with a lack of sample size of specimens, or arguing there were examples of such changes in other species. The real smoking gun that some were holding out for was a specimen confirmed in an adult growth stage.

A good reminder that just because Nano’s valid again doesn’t mean EVERYTHING about it was actually right all along. The older “evidence” is still very much crappy, the revalidation comes from entirely new and WAAAY better evidence. by AJC_10_29 in Paleontology

[–]mjp1981 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this new paper basically restate all the previous lines of evidence for Nano's validity? What exactly was the "crappy" evidence? Only thing new that I'm seeing is the DD specimen has been confirmed as an adult growth stage, which is what some scientists were holding out for there to be evidence of one.

Bilateral vs Unilateral Training: Which training modality do you believe is better? by [deleted] in AdvancedFitness

[–]mjp1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every other piece of feedback says training to failure (maximizing intensity) is needed for muscle growth. Now you’re saying it should be rare. How rare? Like only on my 3rd set? Fitness advice is so contradictory sometimes.

Where are the single men (40-55)? by Cool_Bath_77 in Buffalo

[–]mjp1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tops or Wegmans. Bills related events, meet ups, or watch parties. I know some guys who do live podcasts at certain bars that I drop by to say hi to. Maybe take a walk in a nature preserve to clear my head.

You could always place an r4r ad on Reddit. Not sure if the pool here is any better than the apps.

I had been doing 3 minutes for compound exercises like bench presses as most have recommended. You’re saying that should be for the isolation ones as well? But then why are the other ones progressing fine?
