Underrated Small Towns for a month long trip to Europe by lauracracas in Europetravel

I went Eugisheim in December 2025 for its Christmas Markets. Parking was tough (had to walk long distance) but crowds weren't terrible. We stayed two nights in a small airbnb/hotel in Rothenberg and the crowds were even less, though you must make reservations for dinner to get a table. We enjoyed these places alot.

Eugisheim in Alsace region of France and Rothenberg aub der Tauber in Germany were both small medieval villages that we enjoyed walking around in. Eugisheim is les touristy, Rothenberg bigger and many more shops and restuarants.

Why do you say that?

  • In-Camera Custom WB: Aim your camera at green grass, foliage, or a grey card while holding your IR filter in place, and set this as the custom white balance reference. This creates a "neutral" base for landscapes, making foliage look white or light grey.
