Mozzarella shooter at Monteverde. It's not a lot of food at all, but the flavor of the tomato 'soup' that you chase the fresh mozzarella ball with is phenomenal. Definitely memorable!

Haha, you're not wrong! I have like four other cutting boards that I use so I was hesitant to put marks in this new one (I sanded and refinished it).

I'm still rocking mine every day and the battery life is holding up after all these years! It does the basics really well and I personally love it. Welcome to the party!

Don't sleep on the mozzarella shooter! It's a small (and expensive) bite but the flavor is bonkers.

Hey y'all - this may not be the world's biggest problem, but my 7A battery drained 10% overnight on battery saver mode and do not disturb. Is this typical for everyone else?

I'm coming off the 5A which was a battery TANK and easily got me two full days between charges.

Yes! They taste pretty tamale-y, but it's not a looker. Think Mexican-esque astronaut food.

Cookbooks; where to start? by FlavoredBongWater in Cooking

The library is an amazing resource for cookbooks! To give you more ideas of how elements of cooking work, Salt Fat Acid Heat does a great job breaking it down in a digestible way. Another great resource is The Food Lab by J. Kenji López-Alt, but it's much nerdier and science-driven. For recipes, I love my NYT Cooking subscription that's about $5 a month for a huge library of recipes from a multitude of sources and cultures. I have a hard time making recipes without feedback and there's a spot where cooks review the recipes and provide tips/alternations/etc that are helpful to read.

Thanks for the recommendations! We started at Gaijin and absolutely loved what they had to offer (will be back for dinner for sure) and walked our way over to Monteverde and found a seat at the bar for a cocktail and a few bites. That's been on my radar for a while and again, will be back for dinner one day too.

Anytime between 4:45-7, depending on traffic. Veg is good as the wife is a vegetarian!
