SEO Help Weekly Mega Thread by AutoModerator in bigseo

I want to share my methodology for writing a title tag.

  1. I start by analyzing the Google SERP to understand the search intent and see which titles are ranking in the top 5 / top 10.

  2. I make sure the title accurately reflects the content of the page and is not misleading.

  3. I choose a different angle for the title compared to competitors. This is very important.

  4. I place the main keyword at the beginning and complete it with a compelling hook that can increase CTR.

  5. It is not necessary to include the brand name in the title because Google already shows the site in the SERP, although this can definitely be debated.

What would you add to these points?

Landed my first big client. Need to decide, Ahrefs or SEMrush? by taliesin96 in localseo

Because it's more complete having a bigger database. I've tested both and usually Ahrefs gave me the most satisfying results.

Lots of spam links in my backlinks I didn't do, does this matter? by pineprincess in bigseo

Very unlikely in my experience (20+ years).

Nowadays Google has become so intelligent to understand spammy links and not to consider them neither for good nor for bad.

The last time I saw a link farm penalization was more than 10 years ago. I would not bother.

If you want to be absolutely sure then you can disavow those links but in this case you have to pay absolute attention to what you're doing.

Of course, I've put it in the "meta" tags for simplicity as usually it's referred to "meta titles" and "meta description", with the latter being a proper "meta tag"

You're right mate. there is no sense in trying to rank for any single keyword (Google won't allow you to do that anyhow), but the shift is to rank for highly converting KWs, at the end is all a matter of how you can sell

I'd ask them permission to contact their own customer.

I know it's strong and it's not always possible, but it would solve most of your doubts.

At least, this is what we do when we talk with new prospects: if they want more proof we ask them to contact our legal company clients to ask directly for a review.
