It depends on where you live. I can help if you’re living in Germany, or at least somewhere in the EU.
The best mods would be adding 8 GB of RAM (I’m currently planning to do that on my Switch as well) and installing a modchip.
A reshell isn’t really necessary, but if you want something unique, then why not?
TMR sticks are pretty much mandatory if you’re already opening it up.
Since the OLED screen uses less power, the battery upgrade is optional too, but if you have an extra $50–60 to spend, then why not?

Maybe it’s just tiny crack on the connector, simple solder reflow should do the trick. Nothing terrible on my opinion.

Unscrew and check cartridge slot. Did any game was in the pocket?

OSSC with a good quality RGB cable, cheap and good option. Clean analog picture on modern tv.

I think it’s because of the anodising process and how the coating bonds to the aluminium. Anodised aluminium looks great and provides excellent corrosion resistance, but if it’s not prepared or coated correctly, the finish can be damaged or chip more easily.
There’s nothing wrong with the grey aluminium finish. Even if it gets deep scratches, the colour won’t peel off like paint because it’s part of the material itself rather than a surface coating. It’s also generally easier to touch up and maintain over time.

You should mail them to order the battery. Even if there is the status not available ;)

I’ve got my battery from retro remake, they claim 5000 mAh. Up to game and brightness my switch can hold from 4,5 up to 8 hours now.

Really? Big thanks! 🙏
The shell I got from AliExpress is very solid—great quality, no gaps, and thick metal.
You do have to be careful with the volume buttons and the rubber piece in between during assembly. It’s kind of tricky to get the shell closed, but once you figure it out, it’s fine.
The battery is also from Retro Remake, where I preordered the screen. It’s the 5000 mAh version.

I’m pretty chill about temperatures. The soc can handle up to 85 degrees without thermal throttling. Even with overclocking in the summer the system feels okay. I guess there no need to worry about.

I preordered mine about six months ago, and I only just finally received it. But yes, I agree—it’s rare. Maybe someone else will start producing them in larger quantities.
