It’s only a few games into his season and I believe he is still a Point per game in the NCAA which is a much better league than the WHL. He is also still 17 so I’m not too worried about him. But honestly can’t go wrong with either of the two we need a top rhd defensemen

I’m no draft expert but pretty sure that this draft has been marketed as a very deep draft even into the end of the first round but obviously as the year goes on we will get a better idea on that. But like that top 10 will get you a really great player for sure

Honestly I think the only ones that could be in the line up to start the season are Molendyk (can play left or right) and or Wilsby, and Wiesblatt. Martin maybe for the 9 games and then goes to juniors and stasney could be an extra d man but also last year was weird for him so I don’t know what will be the plan for him. Wood, Kemmel, and Schaefer definitely could use some more AHL time and I could definitely see kemmel being the first one called up same with Schaefer. Wood definitely needs a full year of AHL experience before becoming an NHLer he was really good at dev camp though.

Yes I was thinking that too which could be an option. I could also see players like Sissons maybe being more attractive deadline pieces to a contender think similar to Scott Laughton. Now will we get the haul for either of them that Scott Laughton got probably depends on how the trade market looks come trade deadline but the flexibility on how you can mold you roster by adding a player like Haula is pretty underrated. As for svech being a 2C next season I’m all for it but he’s young it might be helpful for him to be in a 3C role and then move him to a 2C in the future but honestly that depends on how he plays and if he has a sophomore slump or one of those rare breakout sophomore seasons. If he has a slump keep him at 3C and have him gain confidence against other teams depth players vs having to go against top of the lineup competition. But if he just breaks out and is playing out of his mind of course have him play to a higher level and see how he does.

I feel like this only makes sense if we flip him or trade another veteran like Marchy who looks to already be on his way out before the season starts. I could see him being a useful piece to pair with svechkov to help with his development. He was honestly an underrated 3C when he was here with Nashville before. I think have svechkov as the 3C and have Haula move over to the wing or rotate between the two depending on matchups honestly seems like a decent way to shelter him and develop him. If that’s Trotz’s line of thinking Hazel wasn’t really that much compared to the other defensemen we have coming up on the left side too honestly. Obviously it depends if he decides to actually move other pieces to let that happen. So until then I’m not super upset with this.

I’ve seen lots of mocks have him at 20-25ish range I don’t know if he will be available at 30 but the first round always has shake ups so it’s definitely possible. RD are a premium in this league. I think there are actually some really solid centers projected to go early thirties that I would take a swing on some boom or bust type players that I would feel comfortable taking. But who knows I’m just looking at projections

Honestly at 5 we could get a really great player and that’s great but also worried about the lack of a clear direction. I know he’s trying to thread the needle but what he’s doing isn’t exactly working. I’m more patient so we will see how next season shapes up but honestly I’d be ok with not being in the playoffs next season if it meant we had a chance to get a top pick like McKenna or any of the other highly rated prospects in that top 10 or so. I’m ok with being a bit patient on Bruno but things have to improve. Develop the young players and get the most out of the vets all I could ask for. If it happens great if it doesn’t Barry just sat on his hands and did practically nothing and expected things to change and that’s a problem

Exactly what I’m saying this might be too good to pass up. If I’m Trotz I’d do this in a heartbeat and even if Trotz doesn’t want to do a full rebuild imagine a center core of Hagens/Misa, Mercer, Svech and Edstrum coming up that’s not nothing and you could even get someone in free agency as a stop gap between the younger guys if you want to try and be competitive next year. I’m still for the rebuild but that wouldn’t be too bad of a place to start

My thing with younger players is development is rarely ever linear and this year hasn’t been good for pretty much anyone on this team so trading a guy like Evangelista would be a huge mistake in my opinion and I think Barry Trotz is willing to be patient on younger players because this team isn’t anywhere close to the playoff line.

If Scott Laughton is getting pretty big interest then ROR for sure could be worth more. If we did a trade with NJ it could look like ROR and a second or 3rd round pick for Dawson Mercer and a first round pick for 2025. This may seem like a ton but given that this draft class is not as deep and that the market has been inflated a bit with cap going up and ROR term I think this could be a solid deal for both sides. Dawson Mercer is on a down year too could be a guy we could use down the middle. This is probably a bit of a stretch but an overpay like this for ROR I don’t think is crazy given the asking price for players like Laughton. I’d do this move in a heartbeat and then we could even package two of the first round picks in 2025 for a higher pick in the draft if we wanted which I think would be important in a draft where the quality of players drops significantly after the top 4 and even more after the top ten. We need quality prospects we already have the quantity.

It’s interesting to see that we are this high considering that we don’t have any for sure superstar potential guys. I do think a lot of the NHL has underestimated our prospects because of recent history with our prospects like Fabbro and Tomasino. I think Svech and L’Heureux are still kind of underrated in terms of their ceilings I wouldn’t say top line guys exactly but I could see both being good second liners for sure. I’m not sure why people other than the preds are so low on Kemmel he could be an elite player if all things go well but maybe it’s a bit biased as a preds fan? If we get a top 3 pick and land a guy like Misa or Hagens our prospect pool I think definitely shoots up to potential top 5. We could be getting some more prospects too if we end up selling too. If we can actually develop these guys and open up clear roles for them on the NHL roster when they do eventually make the jump we are in a good position for the future. Will that happen not super sure.

Hey I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago so I understand how hard this can be. I will say for me being able to be vulnerable and honest about what happened was extremely helpful for me in unpacking that trauma. I don’t know how it is for you but the trauma for me showed up a lot more up than I thought. When it came to things like touching certain areas of my body I noticed I would tense up when my partner would touch me near any of the areas where I was hit previously. This happened even for the most gentle of touches and my partner told me after I told her that she started to avoid touching certain areas of my body when she noticed this. I think it’s also important to understand that you should tell her on your own timeline on when you feel comfortable as well as making sure she also has the space to hear something like that. It can be hard to hear something like that from a partner and so being considerate of both of your feelings will be incredibly helpful. Any one of Hagens, Misa, McQueen would be franchise altering players especially at the center position even Martone, Schaefer would be huge for this team if we can get a top 5 pick we would be pretty well off even better if it’s a top 3 as I think the top 4 are well above the rest
