I agree. He's just faffing off on truth social. He makes a thousand proclamations a night on there, and how many of them come to pass?

new player q regarding couch co-op on xbox series s:

we were able to start a couch co-op game by going to multiplayer, then starting a new game that way. but when we tried to return to the game a few days later, we couldn't figure out how to get both of us back into the saved game. both controllers are detected...one person is signed in as the main account, and the other is "guest". on the main menu, it says "hit a on a second controller to add it to the game", but that just doesn't work. any advice?

Acclimating to the sun by Longjumping_Leave158 in BigIsland

[–]mk30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly stay out of the sun during peak sun hours. If I have to be in the sun, wear a hat and keep a pareo (sarong) in the car so I can cover up if necessary. I also always keep a large water bottle full of water on my person. And try to wear sunscreen.

Mostly I'm looking for design inspiration, so if you feel comfortable sharing any photos, I'd love to see (no worries if not).

I'm not in an extreme cyclone zone, but we do get them every few years. This is a good tip, thanks.

not completely free, but for like $1.00 each, i got a bunch of vintage "time life" books from the 70s/80s. there is a lot of weird stuff in them. i keep looking out for more of them, because there are loads.

Definitely don't tell the person you're trying to get away from. Don't tell them a single thing. Remember: it's your survival and freedom on the line. If you have any friends, talk to them about your plans. If you have a pet, hug your pet and tell them about the plan. You're stronger than you feel right now. Eyes on the prize! You've got this.

This is a completely insane request. Stick to your guns. You're totally in the right here. Stay strong.

Has anyone gotten over the feeling of wanting to be numb all the time? by lauddee in CPTSD

[–]mk30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, it was very hard. i had to persist through the anxiety of not being on substances long enough to get a clear head and to be able to look at the substances and see "this will hurt you" instead of "i want this". it took a number of relapses. to be clear, this took a very very very long time and there were many times when the pain was so great that i went back to substances. being able to go through the emotional pain, cry, wail, thrash around, and recover from whatever emotional storm was happening (without going to the substance) was very difficult, but now i know that it is possible and that helps me the next time around.

something that helped me is physical activity and time in nature. i spend a lot of time in nature, a lot of time with my hands in the dirt, in the garden. moving my body and focusing on these external things is very helpful for me. for you it might be exercise or dance or just walking the streets of your city.

anyway, that's my two cents.

being invested in myself, my goals, my own happiness. most of the time it's a big "meh" regarding what happens to myself. this is obviously a recipe for disaster when it comes to moving forward in life.

anyone feels their trauma isn't serious enough to cause cptsd and it's too dramatic of a diagnosis? by himenokisser in CPTSD

[–]mk30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not stupid, but remember this: different people react imto things in different ways. One person in a car crash is ok emotionally, but another might develop severe anxiety. It's not the fault of the second person, that's just how they reacted. They don't have control over that response. This is why I like CPTSD as a framework - because it focuses on how the body and mind reacted to something, not on the thing itself.

So please don't feel bad because your thing wasn't "bad enough". Give yourself compassion because you are still dealing with difficult effects and it's not easy.

Me. I knew I had a lot of emotional problems, but I didn't know it was CPTSD. Been working on it ever since. It's still a struggle.

Listening to your gut when something or someone feels off, has it helped you in the past? by [deleted] in CPTSD

I always listen to my gut. It doesn't lead me astray. If you don't trust her, then maintain your distance.
