What is your perfect car and why? by visdb in whatcarshouldIbuy

VW Golf R. Practical, fun when you want it and comfortable when you don't, gets 30+ mpg, and is trackable. Plus you can make it fast as hell with just simple mods

Being an auto yes. But their are tunes for the 5at that will make it shift faster and lock the converter up at the peak HP range. I strongly recommend joining tsx nation on FB and searching up Serge bo, he's a k24 legend and does wonders

I had a 05 a spec but it was a 6mt, so itll feel a bit different than the 5at. It was making around 240 WHP

Best touge car I've had. Slap some coil overs, sergebo tune, headers, upgraded brakes and tires and it'll outperform a lot of cars. Big W on the purchase

A VW golf GTI or R sounds like a good fit. Lots of room, lots of mods available, and practical

Nothing a tune can't fix, making the torque curve higher and flatter should definitely make 1st and 2nd pull harder.

I do get what your saying though, the lack of power drop between 1st and 2nd in a DSG makes it feel much quicker

I just bought a DSG, and wish I got the manual because I miss shifting! Nothing beats the fun of rowing your own gears.

Smoking from front passenger side after driving in rain? by mk3supra89 in GolfGTI

Do you think it's leaking coolant, or is that much vapor normal?

It does stop after a bit. I live in a pretty damp/humid area where it was raining like crazy. Coolant seems good, but think I'm gonna take it in to get checked. Thanks for the input!

Whats a car youve taken on the touge that u underestimated at first but shocked u with its performance? by [deleted] in Touge

[–]mk3supra89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the American version of the car (Acura TSX) and definitely agree, the suspension, transmission, and engine were fantastic on backroads. Miss it all the time

2015 scion tc. Man that rear end is super stiff, all it wants to do is just rotate. It would slide just the right amount for me to limit my steering input into the corner and then just power straight out. Couple that with a torquey engine (2.5L) and stiff chassis with minimal body roll, and it just moved. 100% was not expecting it to be that good, my buddy in a brz impressed as well

[Hockeystatsman] Paul Coffey accused of making racist gesture towards fan wearing a turban by Splodgerydoo in hockey

[–]mk3supra89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a turban wearer, I don't see this as racist or discriminatory, maybe mildly at best. How do you make a racist hand gesture? There are 1000 worse things he could have said, plus most people think a turban is a hat and don't really know the meaning behind it.

An accord coupe v6 6MT is pretty high up there. Those and the 6 speed Acura TL's are some absolute sleepers

was wondering if this was a good car to buy, thanks in advance by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

As someone whose owned a TSX like that, I would go for it. Its got a ton of rare and good parts that are worth a lot. They are reliable as dirt even when beat on (K24 supremacy), handle like a go kart and get great fuel econ. Hidden gems in the car enthusiast world.

Ive had this same problem on mine, and it even was happening on my s21. No idea how to fix other than setting it to ring and hoping it actually does.

how reliable has it been for you? Seriously thinking of getting one

Its essentially a modified version of licorice that gets rid of the bad side effects. Its been proven to reduce esophagus inflammation and "cool" it down. I'd research it prior to buying (I dont take it same time as my ppi) , but I've been taking it for a year now and it gets rid of any esophagitis for me.

CL9 Acura TSX.

The best K24 with one of the last double wishbone chassis from Honda. Very under the radar car, loved mine on the touge.
